My wife and I have been frequenting Cattle Baron over the past 5 years. We got engaged there on the 14th February 2018 and have been celebrating our engagement there ever since. Last night was to be such a celebration however the evening ended up being a total disaster. We were there for 18:30 and had our main course order in by about 7-ish to end up being served a totally sub standard meal well after 8:30. A bigger group that was in and ordered way after us were served several rounds of drinks and had their main course way before ours arrived. At appr. 20:10 I finally managed to get hold of our waitron, Otto to find out where our food was. 13 minutes she said, very rudely. 13 minutes turned into half an hour. When the food arrived we were disgusted. Shriveled up chips and a piece of meat just plonked onto the plate. I had 300g rump, which is supposed to be 28 day, wet-aged steak, advertised as superior quality beef which was the toughest piece of meat I have ever had in any restaurant. If the meal had been good, we would still have endured. I managed after a couple of attempts to get hold of a manager and asked her calmly to sit down as I wanted to discuss something with her. She profusely apologised for the poor service and food quality and offered, firstly for us to have a "Date night" meal on the house on Thursday night and also, offered us free desert on the evening. She then disappeared to her duties and that was the last we heard from anybody. I could not finish my piece of steak as it was too tough to chew and finally just after nine pm we decided to just leave. My wife went and fetched a container to put my piece of meat in and we got up to go and settle our bill. All of a sudden our waitron appeared. My wife and I, after some deliberation decided that we would give them the benefit of the doubt and take the manager up on her offer. Today I called and spoke to the manager. She said she would discuss it with her boss and get back to me, which she did. The "Date Night" special was then offered as a half price meal, and that was the best they could do. I discussed with my wife and we decided that that was not what was offered to us in the first place so I called back and declined the offer, informing the manager that we would never be frequenting their establishment again and that I would be placing a review on Hello Peter. The saddest thing is, it did not even sound as if it bothered her in the least. A word of advise, avoid Cattle Baron Table View at all costs.
