Cellucity
Based on recent customer reviews, Cellucity receives praise from loyal customers at specific branches for friendly, knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond, particularly at Hemingways, Kenilworth, Canal Walk, and N1 City. However, a significant volume of complaints centres on faulty devices, refused refunds, misleading pricing in brochures and online, poor repair experiences, and unresponsive communication channels. Customers frequently report being stuck in prolonged loops between stores, repair centres, and head office with no resolution. Issues with second-hand device quality, trade-in valuations, and after-sales accountability are also recurring pain points.

Sold me an international iPhone without disclosure, found out it was international when I was trying to insure the phone at an iStore where they explained to me the restrictions that come with have a non-local iPhone. They refused to exchange or refund my device to this day, even the salespeople at Mall of Africa had no idea that the devices are international

Guys my phone is a huge part of my work, so I really value expert advice. I want to give a massive thanks to Wesley and CelluCity Kenilworth Center for being so patient and attentive. Ironically, right after I started inquiring about my options, my current phone broke. I had to make an emergency stop at closing time just to let him know I was ready to proceed with the upgrade the next day. I told him I didn't expect him to stay late. I just wanted him to know I will be popping in the next day to get it all sorted, but instead, he was genuinely excited to show me the device I was considering at our previous appointment. We chatted through the options again, and I actually ended up going with something completely different and it is absolutely phenomenal. I’m so happy he took the time to help me. Even though it was already closing time, Wesley insisted on helping me right then and there. He understood that I was basically stranded without a phone and wanted to get me sorted and up and running as fast as he could. That type of service is rare, and you have to give credit where it’s due. I’ve been a long standing customer with Cellucity, and it’s because of this type of care that I’ll keep coming back. Thank you Wesley you are amazing! And a big thanks to the lovely lady (I didn't catch her name) who stayed a few extra minutes to help out as well. I’m really happy with the experience thanks for the help, guys

DO NOT send your Apple Watch for repairs through Cellucity. I dropped off my Apple watch in November 2025 to replace the battery because the battery was going dead while listening to music when out running (and not using the GPS). The Apple Watch is a Series 6 44mm aluminium with GPS and cellular, and was otherwise working 100% for a full day unless listening to music on it. Furthermore, although not my primary fitness device, I wore it while running, gyming and swimming without any problems. The Apple Watch was sent to TheRealRepairCompany in Cape Town, and I received a quote from Yumnah Adams for R 1282.25 to replace the battery, which I accepted. The watch was collected a few weeks later and appeared to be working normally. I went for a swim a few days after collection, and immediately after getting out of the water, the watch was completely dead. When I tried charging it at home, water bubbled out of the watch which got quite hot too. I returned the watch to Cellucity (Walmer Park branch, Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha) to inform them what happened, and they returned it to TheRealRepairCompany in Cape Town. I received another quote from them for over R6000 to repair the watch !!! Cleary the watch "repair" to replace the battery neglected to properly seal the watch again, hence letting in water and ruining the watch. I rep**** to Yumnah Adams telling them they are responsible and should fix or replace the watch. Not only did I pay R1282.85 for a new battery, now I also have a watch that doen't work and will cost over R6000 to replace. I never received any reply from Yumnah Adams or from Cellucity, not even a phone call to tell me my watch had been returned to the shop for collection, which I collected last week. It still doed not work !!!

I ordered a cellphone throughBobshop, and cancelled it before it was handed to the courier guy on their side. However, Cellucity still sent the phone, and tookR21560 out of my Mobicred account. The phone was sent back to Bedfordview, and according to process, Bobshop must now refund the Cellucity money to my Mobicred account. Bobshop has now leftme withthe predicament as Cellucity does not have money in their Bobshop account. Sequestration? I tried to sort it out with Cellucity as Bobshop cannot fulfill their promises, and Nicholas the Store manager informed me that (he) the store manager is not available and works from Ireland. Any idea how I can get the money refunded into my mobicred account? R21 600. Wanda 0614571574 Order no Bobtnpnvvb They have all the information regarding this case, as I spent last week the whole week to try and get my money back.

Cellucity (The Grove Mall) branch has been giving me serious trouble and wont refund me, but keep sending my phone in for repairs. The manager doesn't want to loose money in giving a refund and so is giving me a very hard time and I am still sitting with no S25 or the R15,000 that I payed them 3 months ago. My Samung S25 FE purchased in September had a fault in the camera. I noticed this the day that I unboxed it. I came back to the store (The Grove Mall, Gauteng) on my off days from work in Waterberg, Limpopo to ask for a refund. The store took the phone in after I filled in forms and said they'd let me know once things had been processed and a refund requested from head office. And when I was back at work in Limpopo a phone number SMS'd me to say "your phone is in for repairs". So I waited and now drove down to pick the phone up the other day but it was still not in ideal condition. Now there is dust/particles in 2 of the 3 cameras. So, I asked the manager of the store this time, Sam Du Toit for a refund kindly. He said that this will be difficult for him and the store to do for me. It took me very long to get it out of him to obtain an email address to further request my refund. My situation is as follows: I was expecting to see that my phone would at least come back with no camera problems after it was sent to Vodacom Repairs centre, but it hasn't returned in ideal condition, I've been without my phone since 7th November, it came back from repairs with another problem, Cellucity is sitting with my R15,000 and I'm sitting with no R15,000 phone. I am an active content-creator on social media and wanted to purchase a phone for an upgrade in camera quality... https://www.instagram.com/barefoot_bushwacking.za/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet ...Now I've invested in one but I haven't been able to use it because it was in for repairs. I have had to drive down to George to begin my new job on Brandwacht Game Reserve in the next few days where one of my jobs will be to work on their social media. But I don't have a proper phone for the job because it isnt fixed and Cellucity says they will only "see what Vodacom says about a refund" and get back to me. Now it has been sent off to the nearest Vodacom Repairs outlet (again) but I have had to drive down to the Garden Route as planned. I am unsatisfied with the product I bought and the service of the Cellucity branch. I can't wait any longer for my phone to be fixed while I actually planned to have this phone when I bought it on 19th September. I am not going to sit around longer and wait to get my phone back. I left the phone there on 1st Dec with the expectation that the store will find out how to provide me with a refund and that they will send me my money back. I don't want to be involved with Cellucity again. Their communication is unprofessional, as you can see in the screenshots attached... and I will use my money to buy myself a phone elsewhere.
