Efficient and Professional Service
Due to working from home we are struggling with a Discovery 3 battery that goes flat and we don't drive long enough distances to charge it fully. We've been struggling to find a type 658C AGM battery that has to have a CCA of 850 or more. When the civil unrest started on Monday 12 July it was a problem that we could not use the vehicle. We spotted a Facebook comment with Abdul Kadir's contact number for another Discovery battery assistance request. We reached out and he was super efficient, courteous and professional - bringing the battery to us, assisting with the installation and emailing a Sage generated invoice later for payment. Inferior Product, Zero Customer Service.
We bought a battery 3 months ago from ‘CHEAP BATTERIES” in Umgeni road, they have branches in Mayville and Phoenix Durban as well. I was told the battery I was sold was made in USA. Started having problem with battery not holding charge. We had our my mechanic test the battery and charging system and it seems battery was at fault. I called the manager and took battery into store. The manager was a total incompetent, he knew nothing about batteries, had no equipment to test charging system, except for a hand held tester. He wanted to charge me R50 to leave the battery overnight to charge it. He insisted nothing wrong with battery. I eventually left the store, what a waste of time and money, the 24 month guarantee they offer is a complete fraud. Do not expect any assistance or service from these guys. I suspect they are selling cheap Chinese batteries, I would not take a replacement battery in any event from these crooks. I ended up spending a little more on a new battery from Tiger Wheel and Tyres, at least I have peace of mind in quality of battery. If you looking to buy batteries these guys should be avoided at all cost.
