Always been hesitant to shop at Checkers in general being on pension as I know their prices are mostly higher than other supermarkets and I live there in Gardens super close. Not sure if it's the area as perceived to be more effluent but recently found 2 staple items bread and milk increase by R2 or more. Sasko brown small slices up to R18.99. Possible 18 or 19% increase. Milk up R1 in packets. Even cheapest biscuits up from R6.49 to R6.99. When food inflation happens the private sector support government employee salaries which is a substantial amount. The poor suffer the most of course and us middle class too
