LA Health - 2nd complaint 8.5% increase-less than 50% payout
Fell on arm. LA Health covered R5000 odd and R6000 that I must pay in. Did nothing for me as yet. X-ray and MRI scan. Thinking of canceling last appointment for a final x-ray. More to pay. They can't straighten the arm anyway. Why go. Let NHI come quickly maybe. A good thing. A *****ed arm. So what. Can still use to support. Right handed. I am okay

Caledon Home Affairs the worst responses in spite of available booking slots
My suggestion. Don't come all the way to Caledon if Cape Town has no appointments available. Response times possibly the most sluggish in the country. Also incorrect information given on if the avidavit was loaded on the system requiring one to come back with the physical avidavit paper with them the next time. No changes to the sluggish service in spite of bringing the issues to the authorities

City greed becoming over the top-no refunds until you walk in
City of Cape Town failing us in underhanded ways. Been there 35 years and I can see the way things work now. Coming election time I suggest you enquire around. I will start the process with inside information. The ruling party not looking after the majority in the country and not the majority in the Western Cape. My personal experience to just highlight the issue. Just put the phone down chatting to the Ombudsman. They say don't give them problems it's not the last resort. Only interested if your name sounds like it is not English. Manager of section I worked for was from the majority in the Western Cape. Not a new one from the majority in the country. For the first time I can honestly say the Western Cape is becoming like the rest of the country and how it is run. All the best. I am in the Western Cape still but outside the City limits and after selling my place the City refuses to pay the overpaid rates I paid in accidently. Noticed greed in all areas besides allowing the City to expand too quickly and not building enough water facilities to accommodate the mass of people moving to Cape Town

Courier Guy not able to give deliveries-addresses lost
Finally The Courier Guy has let the ball drop. The Courier Guy in the Overberg region. His App has lost my address. One email from them with no follow up. 3 calls - phone put down after ringing for 20 seconds. Help Centre no response all morning. Deliveries and pickups waiting unattended

Dstv Multichoice removed Channel 182 from Easyview-National Geographic Wild
Had Access Package for R150 a month. Channels removed. Re-negotiated with Warner and Canal+ a French company who have 46% shares and now ru n Multichoice. With income declining the new company decided to cut costs and dilute the packages making it less attractive to customers. Most SA TV viewers which don't pay a SABC licence at least pay R30 a month for Easyview package and you have 500 000 viewers on this package. That is 15 million a month in their coffers. Yesterday to my surprise Channel 182 National Geographic Wild. Take away channel 134 BBC UKTV and a I am a goner and hopefully the EasyView package subscribers quit too. Then maybe they listen and realize not everyone can afford the R150 on Access especially those on pension

City insisting to walk in for refund appication-out of the area
Overpaid rates account and corrected. The City of Cape Town has elected to keep the money knowing I have moved out of the area completely and cannot do a walk in. City known for greed insisting I return to work during the height of the Covid pandemic resulting in me retiring early and losing 4 years of salary. Also allowing the City to expand. It will ultimately catch up with the City at some point

City of Cape Town-Failure to repay overpaid rates account refund
Worked for City of Cape Town for 35 years. Moved out of City limits. Overpaid rates and attorneys asked me to claim from the City. With accounts department had to fill in multiple times sometimes saying the application the one time could be altered. In frustration I turned to the City Ombudsman. So far no communication and still no action

Tsogo Sun Casino hotel reception-Caledon - service seems non existentxistent
Tried multiple walking 15 minutes to see if I can get a massage. Unsuccessful. Busy they say. Unlikely. Prices for R60 double what it is in Cape Town. Phoned. No answer at Caledon Casino hotel . Emailed. No answer. Contacted reception for manager. No-one called back. Possibly with Casino license moving to Somerset West after 10 years of applying. What's left with possible upgrades to rooms and Spa service delivery will improve from almost zero to something significant. Constructive criticism from a pensioner who has been to very many Spas in the past

Review med aid and tarrifs-8.5% Jan 2026 increase-Pensioner 3.10%
Surprise or expected? 8.5% increase in medical aid premiums for LA Health Focus and others I presume. Pensioners on Cape Municipal Pension Fund got a 3.10% increase. Their argument inflation related. Is that a true figure given the increase we just got. Discovery with their monopoly and MediClinic prices has to be stopped. If you are the view that if you had cancer it is God's will and you will pray but not fight it to the end. Why make doctor's and Mediclinics more wealthy to live just a few extra months. My suggestion if no family history. Take a hospital plan only. Save 10& for med expenses. 5% for emergencies. Had R10450 in savings plan. Bought specs R6500. End of last year. R2500 for x-rays out of my savings plan. Back. R2000 for pathologists to check if lump.on my neck was cancerous. Out of savings accounts. Negative. If no savings and it was cancerous who do I blame. Medical aid of course. Should have been covered by the hospital plan. They keep your savings and the interest. Something to think about
