These guys are refusing hospitalisation because of 3 months waiting period after joining. When I called them they said the waiting period is only for those who were never on any medical scheme and is a first time medical aid member. We have been using keyhealth medical scheme for more than 20 years and yet my sun was chased away like a dog from Mulbarton and garden city clinics about two months ago

Am writing this with a my 8 month baby being in a public hospital due to the incompetence of my broker being Donalt and Dipuo they have being sending me from pillar to post regarding my son registration so much so that when I called the main office they telling me my profile hasn't been active since I gave birth on the 10th of June todate, when I call for follow up they tell me that I didn't sign my acceptance letter which I did 3 times including submitting for my OGBQ refund and he said he will send us the money as he sees it on the system sine todate ,my son is fighting for his life In a public hospital but I have medical aid which o find mond blowing how nonchalant they are about this matter . I would not advice anyone to ask for Donalt or Dipuo' assistance because they are *********** and when I ask for the next person in charge they play tag time at telling me they can't do anything for me because they lost they other acceptance later I have sighed last year August . Please note my I am taking the legal route.

LA Health promises it's custom a voucher when the do a wellness screening. On the 6th of January my husband and I went for the screening, however we did not receive any vouchers. I have been sending emails but no reply and when I called they just told me no voucher is loaded on my profile and there is nothing they can do. Why promise customers something you can not deliver.

Surprise or expected? 8.5% increase in medical aid premiums for LA Health Focus and others I presume. Pensioners on Cape Municipal Pension Fund got a 3.10% increase. Their argument inflation related. Is that a true figure given the increase we just got. Discovery with their monopoly and MediClinic prices has to be stopped. If you are the view that if you had cancer it is God's will and you will pray but not fight it to the end. Why make doctor's and Mediclinics more wealthy to live just a few extra months. My suggestion if no family history. Take a hospital plan only. Save 10& for med expenses. 5% for emergencies. Had R10450 in savings plan. Bought specs R6500. End of last year. R2500 for x-rays out of my savings plan. Back. R2000 for pathologists to check if lump.on my neck was cancerous. Out of savings accounts. Negative. If no savings and it was cancerous who do I blame. Medical aid of course. Should have been covered by the hospital plan. They keep your savings and the interest. Something to think about

To say I am disappointed in LA Health would be an understatement. We have been paying into this medical aid for over 10 years, and now suddenly we are restricted in accessing over-the-counter medication. As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, I was shocked to discover that even prescribed medication from a doctor is no longer covered. My son recently underwent a circumcision and was prescribed medication afterwards. When I went to collect it from the pharmacy, I was told that our over-the-counter funds had been depleted, and the medication could not be dispensed. This is unacceptable. Why are we paying hundreds of thousands of rands per year for medical aid, only to be limited in how we can use the benefits? How is a family of four expected to survive on just R4,000 per year for medication? We hardly ever use the hospital benefits, yet still face these unreasonable restrictions. What’s worse is that Discovery doesn’t seem interested in addressing our concerns. I called Khaya Ndlovu on the 15th of July, and he casually told me that if I’m unhappy, I’m welcome to cancel the scheme—as if our loyalty and business meant nothing. His justification for the medication limit was that some people abuse the fund. Frankly, that’s not my problem. We are responsible members who deserve access to the benefits we pay for. At this point, I am seriously considering taking our business elsewhere.

If it was up to me I was gonna give them a half star. LA Health lie to their clients and say they will send the medical aid cards after 30 days of joining and it will take 6 to 8 weeks to be delivered. I called them on the 2nd of April 2025 to order the cards after joining on the 1st of March and asked that they be couriered to my work address. On the 16th of May 2025 I called them again to check how far is the process, I was then told that there's no records of me requesting the medical aid cards. I was shocked and disappointed that after waiting for so long for those cards, I'm told that I didn't order them. I then asked the lady to order them again and it means I'll have to wait for another month or two. They don't understand the implications of this, how do I drive around without the medical aid card? The 1st lady I ordered the card from in March said I must use a virtual card, when I'm in an accident who's gonna have time to "unlock" my phone and look for the virtual card? They are a disappointment, when you join a medical aid they must send those cards to you after joining not me running around after them requesting/ordering the cards from them as if they are doing me a favor. I called on Monday the 20th, I was put on hold for the whole hour because I wanted to check if they have placed the order for my card. It's so frustrating

I’m extremely disappointed, as a 10-year client of LA Health Medical Aid. Despite my husband's consistent payments since joining, you've rejected my claim for a minor tissue breast axillary surgery. I find it unacceptable that you're denying me coverage for a one-day procedure. It seems like many insurance companies, including yours, prioritize profit over people. Every month, premiums are deducted, but when it's time to claim, excuses are made. I expect better service, especially after a decade of loyalty.

I wish there was a zero rating star, LA HEALTH has frustrated me so much I don’t even know what to say, how can I have so much money on my savings and yet I don’t have any on over the counter medication. When did they change the rules because the reason I am with them is because, they put your money on one basket for you to use as needed. It’s April and I cannot even buy pain medication or vitamins, I just can’t wait to change medical aid. It’s just a ****🚮
