I was hired to cover a wedding for her as she had double booked. The bride was not informed even though I was booked months before. On the day of my arrival, she then called the bride and said she was sick and couldn't photograph the wedding however she had sent another photographer. She was in fact not sick and was shooting another wedding that same day (making double the money and only working for one wedding) It's now been 8 months and I have still not been paid for that wedding. 10 hours of shooting and using at least R600+ on an Uber to get home and each time I message her asking when payment will be made I received excuses and excuses. An average wedding of ten hours is R10 000 - R12 000 out of that I was being a kind person and felt bad that she had double booked so agreed to shoot the wedding for R2000 which as a photographer of 5 years is nothing (and my own fault in being too nice) Running a business is meant to be done with morals and care for other service providers and clients however there is clearly a lack of anything for the people she works with and it breaks my heart how many brides and grooms have had to have this experience when their wedding day was meant to be one of the greatest days of their lives.

Haven't Received Wedding Photos, 13 months later
Had a wedding on 4 September 2021. Still have not received photos or videos (13 months later) and we paid in full. From other posts here, this seems like a habit to just keep creating new businesses. Haven't Received Wedding Photos, 13 months later
Had a wedding on 4 September 2021. Still have not received photos or videos (13 months later) and we paid in full. From other posts here, this seems like a habit to just keep creating new businesses. Stay away from this photographer
We got married in August 2015 and took the whole shebang package with Chevonne Engels at Chevonne Leigh photography. Now known as Von Engels. We still haven't got our albums despite numerous calls with begging pleading and tears. I am based in the UK and came to S.A. to get married. We arranged for our parents to pick up the cds and we selected photos for the albums. It too numerous attempts of asking to get the album order form which we eventually got after a year. I visted her and personally gave her the forms at her home as her personal situations prevented her from deliveries/pickups. 2 months later she hadn't done the albums and then she said that her pc wasn't working. She lost our photos on her pc and still strung us along making us believe we were going to get albums. I am so dissappointed and outraged. I hope that others do not get caught in her web. Unfortunately a friend who got marries thw same year as i dis also paid her full and never got albums. Stay away from this photographer

Worse photographer ever
The worst decision of my wedding, actually of my life. I got married in December 2016, its not 2018 and I have not received my wedding album. I have nothing to show to friends and family, nothing! This is all because of a liar of a women, who is selfish, self centred and does not care about her customers. I have had to chase after her a million times, I call her and most of the time she does not answer, I email her and she never responds, I sms and she never sms back. This is after I paid her in full way before my wedding as she had requested, the least she can do is simply supply me with what I paid for. Chevonne is not professional at all and will use every excuse in the book to not keep her end of the deal, stay far from her. Do not render her services. The day I hired her was honestly the start of nothing but misery because of her.

Worse photographer ever

Worst experience of my life!!!
I was very dissapointed in my choice. And remains months after my wedding to still fight a battle to get what I paid for and what was promised to me. With experiencing bad customer service. Bad business ethics. Continues cancellations and delays and trully have felt like this was my one and only bad decision for my wedding. To future brides out there. Make sure you know what you in for before paying all your money. As I fear ive learnt the painful way. She has advised me she no longer does weddings and I hope this is true. Would most certinly not reccomend Chevonne Engels leigh photography recently changed to Owl photography.

The worst person I have ever met, terrible service
Our experience with Chevonne - Leigh Photography now knows as Owl Photography. Our heart breaks and we feel robbed! Appointments and Engagement shoot. We paid our deposit in August 16 for our wedding in March 17 from August 16 until December 16 we tried contacting her numerous amount of times for an engagement shoot. She was always unavailable no matter how flexible we tried to be for a 1 hour engagement shoot. We then had to wait almost 1 and a half months for the few engagement pictures she took. Which where terrible we had to ask for re edits over n over and eventually we got our engagement pictures +- 2 - 3 weeks before our wedding... literally 7 months just to get an appointment and pictures from a hour shoot. Unfortunately we didn't learn there. It was too late to get another photographer and Chevonne Engels promised that the wedding experience would be different... The Wedding The package we paid for was called the Whole Shebang, this included pre dressal photos, unlimited pictures, a second photographer. Creative shoot and a personalised photo book. On the day of our wedding Chevonne was there on time however my husband and his bestmen waited for the second photographer that was promised but did not show up, they had to leave without taking any predressal pictures and were not even notified that the photographer would not be coming. I got dressed at my home which had a pool area, back door garden and lots of open views however my wedding dress was hung on the toilet pipe outside with the bathroom window full of shampoo and conditioner bottles. My "pre dressal photos" include my granny in her under garments and myself hot and flushed (can't include these pictures for privacy purposes) No make up no hair no dressing. Complete clutter around us was captured, roll on, coffee cups and so on. I then get to the venue to find no lighting or No extra equipment for photography. Throughout the day pictures were taken from completely wrong angles. We were not ask to move to a clearer, calmer place or stand in a certain way to capture the perfect picture. No guidance at all. Most of my pictures my posture is wrong. My husband eyes are closed. My bridal team eyes are not focusing on the camera there's water and juice bottles in the pictures. Most of my pictures have double chins in. Moving on to the reception. It was a requirement by Chevonne - Leigh Photography/ Owl Photography to provide seating for both her and the second photographer. We was not advised that one of the requirements we paid for in the photography package and in our wedding expenses would not be attending. Again no lighting. Hardly any family photos, hardly any decor photos. Hardly clear and up close photos taken of us. The photo pickup This was a nightmare for us and it still is! We practically begged Chevonne for our wedding pictures. She did not give us any service and is completely unprofessional. 4 months after the wedding we had to go to her house to collect the pictures because of her own personal situations that did not allow her to come out and deliver the pictures, only to get home to find out we have unedited dark blurry pictures on a disk of just the wedding ceremony. I had sent a message and as usual she never has any idea how these things happen and promise she would give the correct pictures. After waiting another month without a response from her we had to go to her house again to collect pictures at 9pm in the evening, because she was never available. She has problems with her laptop and couldn't access out photos (conveniently) But promised to hand them the next day, another week past without photoa and we had to go to her house again which photos were handed to us, only to get home and find out there are only 60 photos, my terrible pre dressal photos and wedding ceremony, no garden, no reception. At this point we so exhausted every time we try meet she's always unavailable, she would agree to appointments and we would wait for her at the agreed place and call to find out if she's running late, she would say she completely forgot. It was just terrible. Eventually we had no choice but to take it further. When we advised we are handing it over she then met with me and transferred all unedited pictures of my wedding and asked me to go through almost 1800 pictures and right down which pictures we want and what edits I want it to be (isn't this a photographer's job? So what exactly did we pay for?) But because we was so desperate I had to do this. Even after I gave her my feedback a month passed and we still didn't receive anything. I had to sent a demand message which in 2 days our pictures were dropboxed without even meeting us (we couldn't understand why she didn't do this in the first place)I sent her a message to say some of the pictures still hasn't changed and we still outstanding the last few pictures in order to make a proper selection for our photo book. It's been 3 months and we still waiting for the last few outstanding pictures. It's been 9 months since my wedding. We still don't have all my pictures neither do we have our photobook. We don't have what we paid for and we are completely unhappy with the service we received from Chevonne Egels. We put a lot into our special day so the moments can last forever and the one most important day in our life, Chevonne Leigh Photography/ Owl Photography has truly ruined. Apart from the photographer experience, I wish I never meet another person like Chevonne again, who lies and practically steals from you by not giving a service you paid for. She probably doesn't care because she got her side of the deal. We've given her numerous amount of chances just to give us what we paid for so we don't ever have to cross her path again but this is the service we got and we were exploited. If I were You, stay far away from Chevonne Leigh Photography now know as Owl Photography as a Bride or Groom dealing with Chevonne is the last thing you would want to do.

NOT REFUNDING A DEPOSIT IS THEFT!
We paid our deposit in August 2014 for our September 2015 wedding. After the Photographer Chevonne started acting unreliable (rescheduling our engagement shoot 3 times, not pitching for appointments, falling pregnant, lying etc) we decided to cancel her service. As per her own contract, it states a 35% refund if cancelled 30days in advance... we made a special arrangement that she can pay us in 2 months and the first payment would have been end September. We still haven't received a cent and she is ignoring our messages and calls. This is unacceptable, people who want to be Wedding Photographers has a big responsibility and if they can't commit they shouldn't be playing with people's 'special days'. It is cowardly not to take calls, ridiculous not to make arrangements and not returning the deposit is borderline theft!! If this matter can not be resolved I will be forced to go to the Media, Social Network and Small Claims Court. Her facebook - [URL Removed] and website - [URL Removed]
