THE ONLY REASON I GAVE 1 STAR BECAUSE I COULDNT GIBE 0 STARS. As a small business, I try my best to be professional. I purchased a website domain in December 2019 and wanted to publish my website in March. I wanted to display professional makeup pictures of my work and got intouch with NIFTY50. I explained what I was looking for and they were very welcoming, professional and ensured I would get my pictures in time for my website launch. I was asked to pay 50% upfront and 50% on the last photoshoot. I thought I had made the right choice. I wanted to do 3 photoshoots (Nude, colour & glitter glam) I had 3 models each shoot and decided to invest in my business by taking 3 weekends off from work to do these 3 photoshoots. My first shoot was on 28th Feb 2020. To date I have not received my photos, they dont answer my calls, they dont read my whatsapp messages. Ive sent messages just asking for the refund because I had paid 50% for 3 photoshoots but i didnt get the photos of the 1st photoshoot let alone managed to do the other 2 photoshoots. Im so tired of photographers insisting on payment upfront and not giving you the service you paid for. I started my business in October 2020, I had barely saved but wanted to invest in the business. Its now August, I dont have my professional pictures, the money I had saved is gone and my website has not been launched.
I have been a telkom client for 8 years but the last 2 years has been a nightmare. I have 2 cellphones, a fixed line wifi account and a laptop account. My invoices are always different amounts, never what i signed a contract for. Ive been paying way over what I agreed for. When I go to the branch to clarify, they refer me to the call centre, when I call the call centre they refer me to the branch. During lockdown Telkom could not be bothered that the country was on lockdown. They cut all my devices and I had no way of contacting anyone or keeping my business afloat. I then paid the account in full on the 18th June 2020 and I was then debited on the 30th June 2020 and again on tbe 4th July. My account was suspended again on the 6th July because funds had not reflected on their side even though they took money 4 times. This obviously affected my business as i couldn't received or make any calls or use my banking app because my number was non exsistant. After updating their system, on the 8th July payment was recieved and my line was reconnected on the 10th July.. On the 14th July 20204 days later, they debited me again for the amount that was only due on 30th July 2020... Whenever I call, I cant get any response from them, i insist on speaking to a manager but my call just gets cuts.. They are of no help and then inconvenience my life.
Our experience with Chevonne - Leigh Photography now knows as Owl Photography. Our heart breaks and we feel robbed! Appointments and Engagement shoot. We paid our deposit in August 16 for our wedding in March 17 from August 16 until December 16 we tried contacting her numerous amount of times for an engagement shoot. She was always unavailable no matter how flexible we tried to be for a 1 hour engagement shoot. We then had to wait almost 1 and a half months for the few engagement pictures she took. Which where terrible we had to ask for re edits over n over and eventually we got our engagement pictures +- 2 - 3 weeks before our wedding... literally 7 months just to get an appointment and pictures from a hour shoot. Unfortunately we didn't learn there. It was too late to get another photographer and Chevonne Engels promised that the wedding experience would be different... The Wedding The package we paid for was called the Whole Shebang, this included pre dressal photos, unlimited pictures, a second photographer. Creative shoot and a personalised photo book. On the day of our wedding Chevonne was there on time however my husband and his bestmen waited for the second photographer that was promised but did not show up, they had to leave without taking any predressal pictures and were not even notified that the photographer would not be coming. I got dressed at my home which had a pool area, back door garden and lots of open views however my wedding dress was hung on the toilet pipe outside with the bathroom window full of shampoo and conditioner bottles. My "pre dressal photos" include my granny in her under garments and myself hot and flushed (can't include these pictures for privacy purposes) No make up no hair no dressing. Complete clutter around us was captured, roll on, coffee cups and so on. I then get to the venue to find no lighting or No extra equipment for photography. Throughout the day pictures were taken from completely wrong angles. We were not ask to move to a clearer, calmer place or stand in a certain way to capture the perfect picture. No guidance at all. Most of my pictures my posture is wrong. My husband eyes are closed. My bridal team eyes are not focusing on the camera there's water and juice bottles in the pictures. Most of my pictures have double chins in. Moving on to the reception. It was a requirement by Chevonne - Leigh Photography/ Owl Photography to provide seating for both her and the second photographer. We was not advised that one of the requirements we paid for in the photography package and in our wedding expenses would not be attending. Again no lighting. Hardly any family photos, hardly any decor photos. Hardly clear and up close photos taken of us. The photo pickup This was a nightmare for us and it still is! We practically begged Chevonne for our wedding pictures. She did not give us any service and is completely unprofessional. 4 months after the wedding we had to go to her house to collect the pictures because of her own personal situations that did not allow her to come out and deliver the pictures, only to get home to find out we have unedited dark blurry pictures on a disk of just the wedding ceremony. I had sent a message and as usual she never has any idea how these things happen and promise she would give the correct pictures. After waiting another month without a response from her we had to go to her house again to collect pictures at 9pm in the evening, because she was never available. She has problems with her laptop and couldn't access out photos (conveniently) But promised to hand them the next day, another week past without photoa and we had to go to her house again which photos were handed to us, only to get home and find out there are only 60 photos, my terrible pre dressal photos and wedding ceremony, no garden, no reception. At this point we so exhausted every time we try meet she's always unavailable, she would agree to appointments and we would wait for her at the agreed place and call to find out if she's running late, she would say she completely forgot. It was just terrible. Eventually we had no choice but to take it further. When we advised we are handing it over she then met with me and transferred all unedited pictures of my wedding and asked me to go through almost 1800 pictures and right down which pictures we want and what edits I want it to be (isn't this a photographer's job? So what exactly did we pay for?) But because we was so desperate I had to do this. Even after I gave her my feedback a month passed and we still didn't receive anything. I had to sent a demand message which in 2 days our pictures were dropboxed without even meeting us (we couldn't understand why she didn't do this in the first place)I sent her a message to say some of the pictures still hasn't changed and we still outstanding the last few pictures in order to make a proper selection for our photo book. It's been 3 months and we still waiting for the last few outstanding pictures. It's been 9 months since my wedding. We still don't have all my pictures neither do we have our photobook. We don't have what we paid for and we are completely unhappy with the service we received from Chevonne Egels. We put a lot into our special day so the moments can last forever and the one most important day in our life, Chevonne Leigh Photography/ Owl Photography has truly ruined. Apart from the photographer experience, I wish I never meet another person like Chevonne again, who lies and practically steals from you by not giving a service you paid for. She probably doesn't care because she got her side of the deal. We've given her numerous amount of chances just to give us what we paid for so we don't ever have to cross her path again but this is the service we got and we were exploited. If I were You, stay far away from Chevonne Leigh Photography now know as Owl Photography as a Bride or Groom dealing with Chevonne is the last thing you would want to do.
