Poor service at the time
Would not recommend working with this agency. After being the best tenants, paying on time, only contacting for emergencies (when the geyser burst) and at the end of the lease, leaving the place as it was before but in even better condition to previous tenants, I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I was not given back my full deposit because they decided to deduct R1500 to paint a small corner for aesthetics. Upon further research I found out that the landlord is not allowed to deduct that and can only deduct if something is broken or damaged. When I presented this information to the agent, I was ignored. I also had to follow up on payment and it felt like I was hounding when I was being polite and cooperative throughout it all. When the exit inspection was done, the agent said everything looked great and did not mention that I was going to be liable for the paint, so made it sound like the company was going to handle it. I also didn’t know about an exit fee either until it was conveniently highlighted and emailed. I specifically asked him before the time what fees are going to be taken off and he said there shouldn’t be any and that I will get my full deposit because all seems well and fine. When the geyser burst, we did not have water for 2 days straight and it was awful, the agent didn’t seem to care at all either. There was no help with regards to trying to work around cancelling fees because I had to move out due to my father passing and it was just a ‘Who cares’. There were 4 months left of the lease. Just an overall awful experience with this agency and I have told numerous friends to not use them as well and keep an eye and rather use other agencies when finding a place. Another life lesson learnt.

Awful service. Don't take responsibility or liability. Conveniently removes themselves from problems. Principal doesn't care, does not respond to emails.

the awful state of real estate
I applied to rent a property from the estate agency above and was contacted by Liezel Smith . I had to naturally apply for the apartment and was told up front I couldn't afford the apartment but was then sent an invoice to pay R130? this R130 was for a credit check and she said she was negotiating with the owner to bring the rent down to suit what I could afford but I was to pay the R130. I did so reluctantly and a few hours later was told I still couldn't afford the rent and was declined!!! what nonsense is this now! then Liezel began to hound me with an email about how I disrespected her and am treating her badly. is this the state of real estate today, what a con and sham.
