On Monday 4th March 2019 my vehicle a Mercedes Benz was delivered by "Flatbed Truck" to Classic Motors resulting from a problem with the EIS and Electronic key. I was informed that the relevant component/s would be sent to a SERVICE provider (ART) in Pretoria for diagnosis and repair /replacement to get me back on the road Urgently as I require this vehicle (my only vehicle as a business owner)
It is alleged by Classic Motors that the "Couriers" only picked up the goods on Wednesday 6th and that it was delivered on Friday 8th to ART in Pretoria. It was also alleged that ART's technician was already busy attending to the problem and that it should be fixed by Monday 11th.
After much communication initiated by myself, I only received the vehicle back on Friday 22nd March 2019; this Only after I had impressed on both Classic Motors and ART in Pretoria that I was in desperate need of the vehicle. It was alleged that the necessary diagnostics, testing, programming and re-testing had been conducted and that all was in perfect working order.
A mere two (2) days later I was stranded once again with exactly the same problem as what my vehicle had been taken in for. I need to mention that Classic Motors demanded immediate payment of the account before the vehicle would be released into my care. The necessary payment had therefore been done. Quite a large amount might I add.
I have now once again been struggling without my only means of transport for business purposes since Monday 25 March 2019.
It is alleged by the current service provider that NO other service provider in and around the Mosselbay/ George area can properly fix the problem I am currently still stuck with. I find this hard to believe, since numerous people have apparently experienced similar problems which had completely satisfactorily been resolved by other local service providers.
I have still to receive an offer for a "courtesy vehicle" from the relevant service provider, although they are fully aware of my dire situation and the fact that I have to make a very Urgent trip to the Northern Cape which cannot be postponed and / or rescheduled.
This is probably one of the worst - if not THE worst - client service experiences I have ever had in my life and anywhere in South Africa.
