Clay Cafe Hout Bay informed me that my painted ceramic was damaged (by them). I had to run after them for answers as to what my options were and was informed that I would be able to repaint an item. Repainting an item does not suite me as the Cafe is not only over 100km away from my location but I am losing either way having to spend more money to rectify their wrongs. I have requested a refund for the damaged item and have been told I need to visit the store in person - I have now escalated this to the Branch Manager Jade and await her feedback on whether or not my monies will be withheld. My banking details have been provided and I will keep this review updated. Had I done previous research and seen the comments regarding this branches lack of professionalism I would have never made the trip. Sure mistakes happen but once a business becomes cheeky and unapologetic they have set the tone on how this matter will proceed and I will take this further even if it is for something under R200 because they have decided to try and make a fool out of me and we will see whose the fool.

I am very disappointed in my experience at Maggies Farm Clay Cafe. (Lanseria) I booked through DinePlan they knew nothing about my booking although I had a reminder sent to me yesterday. I am not going to even start about the flies, and the service is non exsistent.

Arrived at the place and booked prior for a table.Upon arrival we were told our seat is occupied and were put at a table by the door which was not pleasant and rather left.All staff did not communicate and instead had just stood and seemed very nonchalant. Would not recommend going at all , putrid service overall.

Clay Café Lanseria. Not the experience I was hoping for. It's chaotic and we had to get up and look for the waitress everytime we needed something. I had the worst pizza. The cheese was literally only in the centre and the rest was just unflavored tamatoe paste with almost no toppings. Horrible!

Clay Cafe Paarl has a terrible business model. We were there on 10th of June 2025. We bought each our item for a price. The we sat down and started to paint. Three of the personel were standing all the time at our table chipping in and giving comments. Then when I paid I was given a second electronic device with 3 options of a tip, 10% or 15% or 20%!!!! That is it. You cannot choose NOT to give a tip. Then I saw on the bill that there is a STUDIO FEE OF R45 per pottery item. THIS WAS NOT EXPLAINED WHEN WE ENTERED THE SHOP BEFOREHAND!! Then I saw that the tip was not a percentage of the value of the food serviced, but it was charged on the studio fee, the food and the pottery items. This is wrong and repugnant. I visited many other Clay Café's before and not a single other one had this business model. It is shocking. None of these hidden costs were explained beforehand. I will never visit Clay Café Paarl.

2nd time 50 percent of our order is damaged. All they say at maggies farm Lanseria is we can give you a voucher to come back. Twice the expenses of fuel, meals and time, effort and skill.... So unprofessional and unacceptable!! Will not return request a full refund of the entire days bill.

Im not sure about the other branches but George was exceptional. A friend and I spent over 3 hours there. The setting and staff was wonderful and helpful. We never felt rushed and they were busy. Bonus the foods was delicious. Well spent hours and will definitely do it again.
