Coca-Cola South Africa
Based on recent customer reviews, Coca-Cola South Africa faces severe criticism across multiple areas. Product quality is a dominant concern, with numerous customers reporting flat, degassed beverages and off-tastes across Coke, Valpre, and Bonaqua lines. Retailers consistently describe unreliable deliveries, unresponsive sales representatives, and chaotic pricing that erodes their margins. Unresolved vehicle damage claims, faulty branded fridges left unserviced for months, and ignored complaints highlight a systemic failure in after-sales support. While a few customers praise the iconic taste and brand experience, the overwhelming sentiment reflects deep frustration with service delivery and accountability.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received. Since December 2025, I have been trying to open an account for beverage supply for an institutional cafeteria serving a large number of students. I have been issued multiple customer reference numbers, only to later be told that they do not exist on the system. I was informed that I should be assisted by the Coca-Cola branch in Pretoria West, yet I have repeatedly had to contact the CCBA group directly myself to follow up on my application. Each time, I receive different information, and the process starts over. Even after being assisted by the complaints department and receiving a new reference number that was confirmed as active, I was later told once again that it does not exist. The repeated loss of my application, lack of coordination between departments, and ongoing delays have significantly affected our operations. Potential customers should not have to redo applications multiple times or continuously chase updates without resolution. I hope this matter is addressed urgently and that proper systems are put in place to prevent this from happening to others.

Deliveries are a mess — consistently late, unreliable, and disruptive to our operations. Pricing is just as chaotic and inaccurate, making any form of planning or margin protection impossible. In one ridiculous instance, we were forced to buy 2.25L Coke Zero at R20 and sell it at R18, taking a direct loss because of your pricing incompetence. At this point, we actively push customers toward Kingsley instead, purely to protect our business and avoid further embarrassment at the till. This is not a preference — it’s damage control. The sales representatives are frankly useless. They are difficult to reach, slow to respond, and completely absent when problems arise. When contact is eventually made, there is zero follow-up, no accountability, and no resolution. Support queries are ignored, and it’s painfully obvious that no one cares about the impact this has on retailers trying to run a viable business. For a company of this size, the lack of professionalism, pricing discipline, delivery reliability, and basic customer support is unacceptable. The situation is made worse by clear pricing **************, where certain categories of businesses receive significantly better pricing while others are left to absorb losses — destroying any notion of fair competition. Until deliveries are reliable, pricing is accurate, and representatives are capable of doing their jobs, we will continue to actively recommend alternative brands and suppliers. We strongly caution other retailers to think twice before doing business with this company.

On the 30 December I emailed you guys, informing you of your defective Coke. Yes, you eventually replaced my 24 Tray that I purchased from Checkers. Yesterday, 23 January, when I opened the 24 tray, again, defective, and I emailed you guys on the trailing mail of the 30 December, and yet someone is to reply. Your rep who delivered my product, admitted that the machine you using was defective. My question is WHY DID YOU GUYS NOT RECALL ALL COKES THAT WAS MADE WITH THAT MACHINE????.You guys abv know what machine it was, and what days it was operating, so clearly ypu should have the batch numbers. So, now every other tray I purchase, is going to be defective, and I have to waste my time email and running to Helopeter, to get my issue resolved??? R199.99 a tray of cokes is alot of money in this economy. And No, I don't purchase 1 or 2 trays at a time. On the Checkers App you limited to 2 per transaction, so I make multiple purchases. If I have to go into the store, I purchase atleast 6 trays at a time, and during the month I will purchase extra, because Coke is the only drink you will find in my house. Please sort this out ASAP.
