We rendered a service to Copwatch through their client Trenstar, we were told to invoice Copwatch and not Trenstar, which I found strange as Trenstar was the middleman.
Since 25 November 2019 we were made promises by Trenstar Denise that we will be paid that week by Copwatch and eventually I was told by Denise to contact Copwatch directly for our out standing payment, Denise didn't feel the need to make certain as the middleman her contractor gets paid for their services.
I have been sending emails to Anita at Copwatch since then, i received numerous promises of payment, and to date no payment has been made. Their owner Bertus was on holiday and was going to pay before he left which didn't happen. I eventually emailed Bertus directly today but haven't received a response as yet.
Running a Renovations and Security company, I can honestly say just as hard as it is for a client to trust a contractor, it is hard for a contractor to trust a client.
We have had our business for many years and we go out of our way to keep our customers happy and run a ethical business, I am not saying we never make mistakes that would mean we aren't human, but we do take responsibility for our mistakes and try our best to keep good relationships with our clients.
Why did I decide to write this review? Really just about the money? No...
I think to try and speak for all Renovations and Security companies out there, those who actually do run a honest business, all of us have lost money in the past through dishonest clients, paying a deposit for a project and when it comes to the final balance, after the site has been signed off, they just refuse to pay, or they phone you for a call out, you do the work and don't get payment, we all have handed clients over to attorneys, something no contractor ever wants to do, and yes sometimes it was successful and sometimes not. That said, it's hard enough to run a successful business in this economy and country, having to work for dishonest clients and business makes you loose faith in humanity. Yes of course there are dishonest contractors as well!
Which pains me to say: It makes me wonder if a company doesn't honor their payment commitment to another company, Copwatch Security and Trenstar specifically in this case, what kind of service do they render to their paying clients?
It is not about Rand and Cents, it's about running a honorable ethical business, and taking responsibility and being accountable.
