Debtline Debt Specialists
Based on recent customer reviews, Debtline Debt Specialists faces significant criticism around poor communication and lack of follow-through. Customers repeatedly report unanswered phone calls, ignored emails, and an inability to reach anyone for assistance. A major pain point is the difficulty obtaining clearance certificates after debts are paid off, leaving clients stuck in debt review status. Several reviewers also cite discrepancies in account balances and missed payments to creditors. A small number of positive reviews praise specific consultants for professional guidance through the process to successful debt clearance.

Poor service... 8 have been paying for 7 years and my accounts are still not paid up. They promised that it would only be 5 years. Now they started to lapse on some of the payments. They don't pay everyone. So I am receiving calls again from my bank. Worst service ever. Never go with them they never call back. No one to follow up with... No communication but still take ythe full debit order every month.

Company: Debtline Debt counsellor :Bruce Arendse Title: Debt review terminated but no assistance with clearance or removal Review: I app**** for debt review through Debtline on 12 December 2019, as confirmed in my official documentation. The debt review was handled by Bruce Arendse, a registered debt counsellor (NCRDC3377). My application, budget, and fee structure were all formally processed and accepted . 824889_APPROVAL.pdf None Around 2020, the debt review service was terminated. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to contact both Debtline and the debt counsellor for assistance with a clearance certificate, guidance, or any formal process to remove the debt review status. Unfortunately: I received no proper exit guidance after termination My emails and follow-ups have gone unanswered I was left to resolve the removal of debt review on my own I am now being asked by credit bureaus for documents that the debt counsellor should reasonably assist with The debts linked to this process are closed and/or prescribed, yet my debt review status remains unresolved due to the lack of cooperation and aftercare support from Debtline. Debt review is a serious legal and financial process. Clients should not be abandoned once services are terminated. This experience has caused unnecessary stress, delays, and financial prejudice. I am posting this review in the hope that Debtline will finally engage and assist with formally concluding this matter.

And I'm also writing to express my disappointment with the level of consumer service I've experienced while trying to resolve an issue with my account. Despite numerous attempts to contact your team, I've been met with unacceptable delays and lack of response. I even emailed enquiries but no response from them. I've been calling your office since Friday, waiting for assistance with my account. My calls have been placed on hold for over an hour, only to be disconnected without any resolution. To date, I haven't received a callback or any form of communication regarding my issue. And they are supposed to reimburse me R6500 since they have debited more money. Request: Please process the refund of R6500 to my account as soon as possible. If there are any additional steps required from my end, please let me know. Current Status: I've completed all my debits, and I'm awaiting a clearance certificate. However, due to the lack of response from your team, I'm still waiting for this document. As a result, I urge you to look into this matter and provide me with an update on the status of my clearance certificate. I would appreciate it if someone could contact me directly to resolve this issue. Suggestions for Improvement: To improve your consumer service, I suggest implementing a more efficient call-back system or providing regular updates on wait times. This would help manage customer expectations and reduce frustration

I have paid of my debts in April 2024. to date, i have been unsuccessful in getting Debtline to issue me with a clearance certificate despite me submitting to them my paid up letters. I try calling any my call goes unanswered. it can sometimes ring up for more than 30 minutes, and if someone does answer, they tell you that someone else is working on my account and they will let that person know to contact me. which never happens. i try emailing them several times, that too goes unanswered. It's now very frustrating as i cant get a hold of anyone, not even to escalate my matter.

I have been trying to get hold of Debtline, which is my Debt counselor now for the past 4 years. Nedbank has informed me that my credit card has not been paid since May 2025, being so close to being debt free I cannot afford mistakes like this from Debtline, but I cannot get hold of them. They don't answer their phones and my emails get ignored.

Thank you soo much to Deptline consultants for their professional service, especially Nthabeleng, Kgaugelo and Sinethemba. They helped me throughout the process until I got my clearance certificate. The process is not easy and needs lot of waiting and patience but they are always ready to assist no matter what. I was couple of times disappointed when calling and their calls not answered but they get back to me all the time to keep me updated and give good advise. Keep doing that to others. Thanks.
