Riaan van Heerden's restaurant does not smoke the pipe!

After hearing about their famous pap and cracklings, we decided to visit one Saturday morning to try it out. What a disappointment! The cracklings were extremely dry, tough as leather, and completely tasteless. After forcing down a couple, I decided I’d had enough — I wasn’t about to risk damaging the crowns and bridges in my mouth. I’ve had plenty of cracklings in my life, but what they served was simply unacceptable.

The manager took my portion back to the kitchen for the staff to inspect, but then forgot about it entirely. In the end, I was still charged for the so-called “crackling dish” — despite barely touching it. That’s just poor service.

My wife and son-in-law also couldn’t finish their portions. The cracklings were simply inedible. Sadly, I don’t think Delizioso Restaurant will be seeing us again.
