I am very disappointed with the Labour Call Centre service. I have been waiting for my payment/status update and have made many calls and sent emails with no progress. I was given different information by agents, and my calls were dropped three times without help. I also spoke to an agent named Lucky and asked him to escalate my case to a manager and request an exception, but nothing was done.

I am writing this email seeking your intervention in resolving my case. In 2023, I submitted my UIF application at the Kempton Park labour centre where it was established that there is an employer by the name of Quickvest 10 Pty Ltd that was paying my declarations parallel to my then employer. I have never worked for this company and I don’t know the company. My case was referred to the Belville labour office since this company was based in the Western Cape. Almost 3 years later, this case has not been resolved, no one has even given me constructive feedback regarding the matter as a result I have no idea what is going on. Instead, I have been moved from to pilar to post with my case being assigned to different people that don’t even have the decency to respond to my emails when requesting feedback. My humble request to you is that you please intervene in this matter so that this matter can be resolved and I can proceed with my UIF application. Please understand that I am currently unemployed and it is only fair that I at least get what is due to me. I really can’t be begging people to respond and resolve this for almost 3 years. Lavinia Brown ; Natalie Heideman; Nicole Cloete; Tebogo Maduwa all failed to assist me they kept on moving me from one *********** person to the other. Can I please have this resolved.

I would like to formally commend Ms Sizeka Mgoqi, Facility Manager at the Department of Labour – Bellville Branch, for the exceptional improvements she has implemented and the remarkable transformation in service delivery at the branch. Over a relatively short period, there has been a clear and visible improvement in the overall efficiency, professionalism, and atmosphere of the Bellville office. The changes introduced under Ms Mgoqi’s leadership reflect a deep commitment to public service, accountability, and operational excellence. Notable improvements include: • Enhanced client flow and organisation: The branch is now better structured, reducing confusion and long waiting times. Clients are assisted more efficiently and with greater clarity. • Improved staff professionalism and morale: There is a noticeable improvement in staff attitude, teamwork, and responsiveness. Employees appear more engaged, respectful, and service-focused. • Cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment: The facility is well maintained, creating a professional space that reflects dignity and care for the public. • Better communication and support: Clients receive clearer guidance, and queries are handled more effectively, reducing frustration and repeat visits. • Stronger leadership and accountability: Ms Mgoqi demonstrates hands-on leadership, ensuring that standards are maintained and challenges are addressed proactively. These improvements have significantly elevated the public’s experience at the Bellville Department of Labour branch. What was once a stressful and inefficient process has become a far more structured, respectful, and productive environment. Ms Mgoqi’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to service excellence deserve recognition. Her work is a true example of what effective public sector leadership can achieve when driven by integrity, accountability, and care for the community. Please accept this commendation as a sincere expression of appreciation for her outstanding contribution. Yours faithfully, Dr Leon Weston

I have submitted my forms 2 on the uif maternity website and both times it was rejected and they didn't even contact or mail me to tell me what's needed. The staff at Goodwoods labour department is not friendly towards the clients. We were sent away 3 times because there were too many people in the queue. Then we were told to be there before 07h00 on a Thursday as they let you in if you are there before 07h00, however we still waited outside for 3 hours before getting any help.My 1 month old baby and I stood outside for 3 hours. It is so difficult to feed a baby while standing in the queue. They definitely don't take the moms into consideration. Then when they let us in, the staff member had a terrible attitude towards me from the moment I greeted her. Then I gave her all my documents and before even going through all my paperwork she told me that the one form is incomplete as it stated the months/periods I didn't receive any salary...in my case November till January...because February I am back at work. She said no the dates need to be on as well...so I told her but for those entire months I didn't receive any salary. So I asked her could I phone my boss who completed the form and then just add the dates to the months stipulated and she told me why do I want to commit *****. What authority do I think I have...I then lost it obviously because seriously how can she ask me that. She also said do I think I'm privellaged to carry on with her but she had the worst attitude towards me. So I told her If I was privileged would I be sitting here trying to claim for my maternity uif. I'm here because I really need the money. Just a pity that it takes so long to get it and to get going with the paperwork because they can't do their jobs right. I was still trying to explain to her and she told me that she doesn't want me at her desk I must leave.... it's just flippen ridiculous really.
