I submitted an Injury on Duty (IOD) claim in November 2024 after being injured at work. All the required documentation was submitted, including medical reports and employer documents. Despite the claim being submitted more than a year ago, it is still pending and I have received no meaningful feedback regarding the progress of the claim. I have made several attempts to follow up in person and telephonically, but have not received any clear update or timeline for when the claim will be processed. I have been dealing with Mandivuye who has constantly made empty promises and said that everything was finalised a while back already. Until recently, when she advised that she is waiting for "Steve" to finalize calculations which again, has been ongoing for some time. My calls and messages are now not being answered. Another colleague of mine who also had an injury after me, got paid within months after being assisted at Bellville's Department of Labour. This delay is extremely concerning as the Fund is meant to assist employees who are injured at work and depend on this support. I respectfully request that the Department of Employment and Labour urgently investigate my claim and provide feedback on the status and when payment will be processed. Claim number: 11650228 Please treat this matter as urgent as the delay since November 2024 is unacceptable.

Inspection & Enforcement Services - Non-responsive to emails and bad service In 2023, I submitted my UIF application at the Kempton Park labour centre where it was established that there is an employer by the name of Quickvest 10 Pty Ltd that was paying my declarations parallel to my then employer. I have never worked for this company and I don’t know the company. My case was later referred to the Belville labour office, Inspection & Enforcement Services division since this company was based in the Western Cape. Almost 3 years later, this case has not been resolved, no one has even given me constructive feedback regarding the matter as a result I have no idea what is going on. Instead, I have been moved from to pilar to post with my case being assigned to different people that don’t even have the decency to respond to my emails when requesting feedback. My humble request to you is that you please intervene in this matter so that this matter can be resolved and I can proceed with my UIF application. Please understand that I am currently unemployed and it is only fair that I at least get what is due to me. I really can’t be begging people to respond and resolve this for almost 3 years.

Dear Hello Peter I submitted a UIF claim on the 22nd January 2025 at the Labour Center in cape Town Parade Street , got a SMS on the 29th January saying my claim was successful, 21st February i went back to sing for the payment & waited for 15 days for a pay out, 15 days came & went no payment was made , i sent e-mails to them but got no reply , phoned their call center which i later noticed it was useless, i then received a call from their payments department on the 6th April then went in on the 8th April to sign again. Again 15 days waiting period came & went , on the 6th May i went to sign for the 3rd payment but this time i requested to speak to a supervisor , when i asked him what was causing the delay he told me , there was an error coming from my bank but there no such coz i went to my bank on the 8th April , then he again told me the people at the provincial office were either on leave or on an outreach , he promised to attend to matter himself & will call me personally. As usual i didn't get the call , to make things worse there is no way of getting hold of him because the phones are not answered when i call , i have no funds to go to their office as i have borrowed a lot of money from people to go to & from their office, i have also accumulated penalties on my debit order because there is always no funds. To this day i don't know how much i will be getting from them because no one knows whenever i ask them. I have lost all hope regarding this matter & i feel powerless , can you please help? Kind regards

The inspection dept>took more than 3yrs to obtain my employee file from my previous employer when I was unfairly terminated. This caused me to be unprepared for the case on the day the I appeared before the commissioner. My case was due on the Mon at 12pm (only at 11:11 that same day the dept of labour sent me my file after more than 3 yrs. of waiting. Unfortunately for me, it was too late due to their incompetency.
