Doss delivers! This company is well organised and they keep their word, dates and times. Friendly and efficient service.

Doss Compliance Services inspected the property at 15 ****le crescent Clovelly in mid July, and later repaired elements of the electrical, plumbing and woodwork. The interactions were pleasant and the repairs neatly done .... We were fairly satisfied with the work. However I felt they cut some corners, one example being a flood light that can not be turned on without the garage light also remaining on. Not very efficient there. A faulty front light was removed without replacement. Small niggles.

Charged for plumbing repairs that had absolutely nothing to do with the checkpoints required for the plumbing certificate. They also failed to inform the seller that plumbing and beetle certificates are not compulsory for the Stellenbosch area and happily repeated inspections in the 15 months it took for registration of the property. When they did the plumbing inspection for the 3rd time, they found fault with a toilet flushing system which they had replaced 6 months before (another item that is not on the certificate's checklist). I will definitely never use them for anyting.

Due to incompetence and sloppy work by estate agents and conveyancers, registration of our house took 15 months. In this time, Doss repeatedly renewed the beetle and plumbing certificates that have expired, adding thousands of rands' worth of plumbing 'repair work' to items that are not even on the check list for the COC. On top of that, they ignored the fact that neither a beetle nor a plumbing COC is required for Stellenbosch.

Poor service. They listed faults on my house when I sold it during the inspection. I got another company to fix the "faults" for less than 40% of the quote received by Doss. They didn't even do a proper inspection... they never even went into my garage and inspect the plugs, lights and garage door motors. Rating should actually be in a minus.... shocking service and company to use. Avoid them... they are just looking to make money from rubbish and don't do a proper job.

Having purchased my house 4 years prior and recently sold my house I had to get all the certificates of compliance. The inspections were carried out only to identify work that was never done when I took ownership. I never received the original certificates from the lawyers and slowly managed to work out that DOSS had performed the work. The issues related to electrical, plumbing and even the electric fence. It is very easy for deniability so just contacted them over the plumbing issues. Eventually got them to come round , after a short meeting they tried to raise doubt over the age of the geyser and the the fact that the company had changed hands. They weren't able to provide the certificate for the previous work performed. Another individual confirmed from insurance records that the geyser was a 2010 model which required all the necessary work, drip tray and overflow issues be resolved. I have written back to the company to request comment but they now choose to ignore my emails. I have requested they pay for the work that was never carried out when I purchased the house resulting in my incurring the costs - this is not acceptable and will now approach NABISA, Law Society and small claims court to ensure the payment is made.

I see a lot of negative reviews ( maybe they have sharpened up or something) but we used DOSS for beetle and electrical compliance certificates for two houses (I agreed to do the one I was buying as well) . I had a tenant in the one I was selling so access was tricky. DOSS were on time and well organised and handled my tenant well. I went to them thinking I'd get different people for the different certificates which became a nightmare. False Bay Fumigators wanted to charge us almost R20 000 for a termite problem. (never mind having to kick out tenants for 2 days while they covered the place in sheeting. ) I went to DOSS for a second opinion (not telling them of the previous quote )and they did it for around R4k. If I sold again I'd get them to do it all as it was very well organised and convenient.
