Dr Corrie Botha lacks decent bedside manners but he is one of the best neuro surgeons in the country. He has been treating me for a herniated disc in my lower back. He does not make small talk but gets to the point immediately. He believes in conservative treatment before he decides on surgery. I would recommend him to everyone.

I had an appointment with Dr Botha on the 8th of January this year. I had a C6-7 fusion in May 2023, but still experience neck pain. I live on the South Coast KZN, and we have no specialists in this area. I was visiting family, so decided to see Dr Botha. Two words come to mind; rude and arrogant. No good morning or introduction. After seeing where I live, he asked what I was doing there. I explained the situation. He said that there is 0% success rate with neck fusions, so what did I expect him to do? With that, he stood up and said, 'I can't help you. Find out about pain management.' I was with him for maybe 5 minutes, to be dismissed without offering any advice except to find out about pain management. He has claimed R1898.06 from medical aid. Is this how he makes his money? I find it incredible that he has the audacity to claim for this so called 'consultation.' I read a review about Dr Botha, unfortunately after I had seen him, which related the same experience I had. He may be an excellent surgeon but has zero empathy with his patients. I am so angry that we can be taken for a ride like this and he, of course, is laughing all the way to the bank.

I have recently had the bad luck of fainting, falling as a result, and breaking my back very badly. I went to Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital in Radiokop. Dr Antonie Botha, who has recently started a practice there, and who is contracted in to the major medical aid schemes, operated on me. It was a long and difficult operation, as I also suffer from osteoporosis. He did a fantastic job. I recently went for my 6-week check-up and X-rays. I was amazed at the precision of his work. His bedside manner is also awesome and very caring. It was an amazing experience to have a doctor that is just so good in all respects. I can recommend him for all back surgery in future. He does both the orthopaedic as well as the neuro surgery, which is an added bonus and cost saver. I am very glad that he joined Wilgeheuwel Hospital just in time for my back injury. The Lord works through his hands, that is for sure!

I had two ops done by Corrie. He's straight and needs a good reason to operate. He attends many conferences overseas to keep up to date. Both ops were great. Second one lefy me in a better condition than I've been in for 20 years. It did cost me a fair amount of money, because he's contracted out from medical aids, but the results are fantastic. A friend of mine, Piet, swears by Corrie. I think some of the complaints are superficial and petty. You want a great doctor, take Corrie.
