Best Doctor and care ever!!!
I was just discharged after a laparoscopic sigmoidectomy. This doctor was top class. Highly professional, best bedside manners. He visited me post op daily in the morning and at night for the 8 nights that I stayed in the Stellenbosch Medi Clinic. It was exceptional care. I can not believe any of the negative comments made here about him. I come from a medical background and as such am already critical and sceptical. Thank you Dr Meiring. I am recovering well at home. Oh and did I mention the absolute precision with the cut itself…so small and so neat. Very happy patient.

Best Doctor and care ever!!!

Great Doctor
Dr. Meiring performed a hernia repair for my daughter, and I must say, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. His level of expertise and skill in handling the procedure were truly remarkable. Personally, I firmly believe that his extensive experience played a significant role in the successful outcome. I would highly recommend him without any hesitation.

Great Doctor
Dr. Meiring performed a hernia repair for my daughter, and I must say, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. His level of expertise and skill in handling the procedure were truly remarkable. Dr. Leon Meiring
Dr. Meiring has done procedures on myself and close family members during the last years and our experience with him is that of a Doctor who knows his field, gets to the point quickly and who cares. He may say it as it is but personally I appreciate that. When you seek medical help from a doctor, you are there for a reason...not for a bedside manner that suits your personal preferences.

Dr. Meiring has done procedures on myself and close family members during the last years and our experience with him is that of a Doctor who knows his field, gets to the point quickly and who cares. He may say it as it is but personally I appreciate that. When you seek medical help from a doctor, you are there for a reason...not for a bedside manner that suits your personal preferences.

Kind and experienced doctor
<p>Dr. Meiring treated me excellently. I went to him with abdominal cramps and he immediately knew it was my appendix. He did not run expensive blood tests or sonars. </p> <p>After the operation he regularly checked on me and treated my with empathy.</p> <p>I really recommend this doctor to anyone!</p>

Poor treatment of patients and reprehensible attitude
<p>I assert that the following statements serve the interest of the wider public, and I further assert that all statements are verifiably true. These statements refelct only my personal experiences.</p> <p> </p> <p>This doctor performed a surgical procedure on me without informing me of the potential long-term complications and severe side effects which may occur. I returned after the operation and started mentioning that I was now experiencing severe side effects and complications, and from that moment onwards I have been treated like a leper.</p> <p> </p> <p>The doctor's receptionist (who is also his wife) refused to allow me to speak to him. She also threatened to "take me to court" for complaining about my treatment.</p> <p> </p> <p>The doctor phoned my father to try and get me to stop complaining. I was 25 years old at the time and this was most certainly highly inappropriate on the doctor's part.</p> <p> </p> <p>The doctor told me that he had been discussing my complications and my grievances with all the other doctors that I had been seeing privately in the previous months.</p> <p> </p> <p>The doctor neglected to return my phone calls or honour pre-arranged meetings on three seperate occassions.</p> <p> </p> <p>The doctor's wife threatened to throw me out of the practice since the it "also belongs to [her]". </p> <p> </p> <p>The doctor failed to conduct a physical examination on me on two separate occassions.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

Fantastic Surgeon in Stellenbosch
<p>Our daughter who is studying at Stellenbosch University was savaged by a dog. Her thumb was crushed. Her calf muscle pulled off the bone . she had 17 dog bites. Dr Meiring operated, first having to scrub the wounds to prevent infection, Dr Meiring did an amazing job of stitching our poor daughter back together. Two months later her wounds have healed with very few scars. She is able to walk without a limp and return to Gym.</p> <p>Thank you so much Dr Meiring</p>

Excellent diagnostic abilities
My GP referred me with excruciating lower abdominal pain to Dr Leon Meiring. 1st visit. He fitted me in between other patients (to the dismay of other patients) as an emergency, physically examined me & listened to my story/symptoms. Within two ticks and without expensive scans he pin-pointed the problem by only applying some finger pressure to my lower abdomen. His prescription removed the discomfort & pain immediately and the medication cured me 100% within 5 days. Do not expect irrelevant chitchat or small talk - expect to the point questions, a full and thorough description of the diagnosed condition and a script that worked wonders. Even the late 5:30 pm consultation the next day was not too late on a Friday to fit in a consultation to discuss the results of a blood test and to again explain everything for my spouse
