I have placed my order 4 weeks ago but there has been no response or any email confirmation. This is like a ****. On the website it states 3 to 5 working days but that is incorrect.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service I have received from Drone Gear SA. What should have been a simple, low-value purchase has turned into a week-long exercise in being ignored, given incorrect information, and left without any form of accountability. I placed and paid for my order on 25 November 2025, and received the usual automated confirmation saying the order was being prepared for shipment. After that, the communication stopped completely. No updates, no shipping notice, nothing. After days of silence, I had to chase the matter myself. On 1 December, only when I phoned in, I was told: The pre-owned Mavic Pro 220V charger I paid for does not actually exist in stock. Only one item is available, And no one bothered to notify me of this. Accepting payment for an item you do not have, and then saying nothing, is unacceptable. This is not a complex order. It is a used charger. If it’s not in stock, the customer must be told immediately. I requested an immediate callback from Jaques. I was assured he would call me. No call came. Because this was already a serious communication failure, I drafted a detailed email and sent it to all three directors of the company, including the very director who was supposed to phone me back. As of 5 December: No one has called me, No one has responded to my email, No one has taken ownership of the issue, No one has provided any explanation whatsoever. In other words: I have been ignored at every level, from basic customer service right through to company directors. This is not simply poor service. It shows a complete disregard for customers, their time, and their money. I expect the following immediately: A written explanation for why payment was accepted for a product that was not in stock. Confirmation of whether the remaining item will actually be shipped. A prompt resolution for the unavailable item (refund or alternative). An explanation for why all communication ceased, including why not a single director responded to a formal escalation email. Clear steps from Drone Gear SA to ensure this does not happen to other customers. The silence and lack of accountability have made what should have been a straightforward purchase unnecessarily difficult. This experience reflects extremely poorly on the company. – Kobus Raath

An order I placed four months ago has still not been delivered. There was no response to mail; on the call, I was told they would call me back, but there was no callback. Today, I discovered that there would be no refund, and they couldn't give me an ETA or answer my questions. Terrible service

Several times have sold items on their website that show as "3 units in stock" etc but they do not have stock. The most recent time - I purchased an item for R26k, needing urgently for our business - followed up four days later to find out that they in fact never had stock and item was never shipped. They never contacted me to inform me about this - even though website stated they had stock upon purchasing. I have had to request a refund multiple times with poor communication all around. No apology, call form the manager - nothing. Messages ignored when following up via their Whatsapp line. I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere for anything drone related.

Happy with the service, pricing & products from DroneGear, I had an little issue with a invoice & they solved it. Bought a used DJI Mavic 2 Pro from them & its been LOTS of flying hours later & its still working like a Rolex!

I've purchased a DJI Mavic 2 Pro combo from Drone Gear on 21 Oct 2021. Afterwards I've asked Jody to just send me an Invoice because I'm purchasing the Drone for my Business & want to claim back VAT. She told me they aren't registered for VAT - which is fine but in that case I only need a copy of her ID to send to SARS to say Dronegear isn't registered for VAT & I will still be able to claim back the VAT. It's a few months later & she just ignore my messages - if I knew this would have been the case, then I would not have bought the Drone from them in the first place.

I've purchased a DJI Mavic 2 Pro combo from Drone Gear on 21 Oct 2021. Afterwards I've asked Jody to just send me an Invoice because I'm purchasing the Drone for my Business & want to claim back VAT. If I could give a zero I would. So all started very good and I was quite impressed with the effort Drone Gear was willing to do. I wanted to order something from them for my Air 2S and specifically asked whether they do overnight shipping, as I would only be at the delivery address for another day. They said they will ask their courier partners and let me know. 5 minutes later they informed me it is indeed possible and I need to place my order and they will sort me out. Happy as one could be and very excited! After keeping an eye on the tracking info I was very disappointed to see that the scheduled delivery was only 5 days after the order was placed! I decided to phone the courier company as to why this is the case. They informed me that they do not offer overnight shipping to my location (only 2 day if the parcel was handed to them in time), do not delivery over weekends or on public holidays and that they did inform Drone Gear of this before hand and when the courier picked up the parcel. Needless to say this made me livid. Not necessarily the fact that I will not get the required gear but rather that they blatantly lied to me to get a quick buck and completely wasted my time, I could've tried another company that could've made a plan for me. Despite this I continued to be nice with the staff and asked for a refund. Now the refund. They firstly informed me that this will not be an issue and they will give me a full refund. Just for them to tell me afterwards that they can only give me a refund when the parcel is back in their care. Now in normal circumstances I can understand this policy, but surely someone with some common sense would realise that this policy is for sure as hell not applicable in this case. They made the error with regard to the shipping, and admitted as much. So even after all this the inconvenience is still on me. Now I need to either dig into my holiday fund to search for gear at another place, or wait for them and their courier partner to get the parcel back to them, which will be to late. The sales person did ask the "manager and boss" and they opted to stand behind their company policy. So now the wait for my refund. I only expect it to come in early next year, with all the holidays coming up. I would not recommend Drone Gear at all, it is quite obvious that they are after your money with zero business etiquette or common sense. There are numerous other businesses out there that would see past the senseless "policy" and simply do the right thing. Think twice before you spend your well earned money here!

I bought a new DJI Mavic mini se from dronegear that came with a free sd card, upon receiving the drone I noticed that the sd card was not in the package. After contacting dronegear they sent me the sd card as soon as they had stock at their cost. Good company to buy from!
