(1) On the 11th February 2024 I was taken to Wilgeheuwel hospital Casualty department with severe back pain, and admitted after 7 hours lying in Casualty and not been offered anything to eat or drink until I asked after 6 hours. I had to ask the nurse by then to please call the doctor which then admitted me with an authorization number from Discovery. (2) While in Casualty I was sent for x rays and the a CT scan.before doing the CT scan I was asked to sign papers giving them permission to do the CT scan but was never given a copy of what I signed or told there is a co-payment (3) On the 12th February 2024 while still in hospital my Dr sent me for an MRI before I went for the MRI a very young tall thin gentlemen come to me in the ward asking my to sign for the MRI he said there would be a co-payment of R300.00 I asked him 3 times are you saying R300.00 or R3000.00 and he rep**** R300.00 every time, and the patient in the other bed across from me heard him say R300.00 she still commented on it and said that is cheap. again I was not given a copy of what I had signed. (4) When I got home I checked my Discovery Medical savings which was depleted. I saw that Drs van Rensburg & Partners had taken most of my savings. When I called the account department and spoke to a women in the account she had NO EMPATHY sounded IRRITATED and spoke in a ROBOTIC voice as if she was reading from a sheet of paper and that was that sort of take it and pay for it and she still had the nerve to tell me read your policy wording. Hello lady Im in hospital in pain. Is this how the above Drs accounts treat patients trying to find out where there savings have gone, and why there savings was depleted. (5) I was under the impression that when in hospital and they have a authorisation number that it would be claimed under that number. I am totally disgusted with the treatment received from beginning to end with both departments while in hospital. Shame on you
