This is about Mr Charles Owen. Mr Owen caused my claim to prescribe and caused irreparable damage to my medical negligence case. An absolute nightmare to deal with. ZERO compassion and ZERO people skills. I remember saying to Mr Owen on the first day we met for a consultation that I wish I had made a recording of the consultations with the doctor I was intending to litigate against, since it would make everything so much easier! I now wish I had made a recording of THIS consultation. All the stereotypes about lawyers you see in TV series and Hollywood films apply. No attempt has been made to apologise to me or make amends. From De Rebus, Aug 1, 2019 (http://www.derebus.org.za/client-expectations-and-the-professional-duties-of-a-legal-practitioner/): "All the consultations and discussions with the client must be recorded in detailed contemporaneous file notes and correspondence must be sent to the client confirming the content of the discussions. While the underlying reasons for the prescription or under settlement of the personal injury claims (not just RAF claims) vary, there are a number of points to be noted by legal practitioners in handling such claims in order to properly manage the expectations of the client. These includethe prescription date and the implications of a claim prescribing" Prescription date was never mentioned to me. Claim prescribed in July 2014. First time I ever heard of the concept of prescription was in 2015, after the claim had already prescribed. I heard about it from another attorney that I consulted with, who advised me that the ship had already sailed and that DSC should have informed me of the prescription date. DSC should provide documentation of the alleged occasion on which I was informed of the prescription date.

I would just like to take a moment to thank Jacqueline Hudson and her team from DSC Attorneys for handling my case so well. It was a very long journey but it was handled professionally with my best interest in mind and for the best result . Thank you Jacqueline and team for fighting for me so hard despite all the delays and back and forth and for not giving up. I would recommend this team of attorneys any day. Thank you once again for everything.

If there was an option for zero stars, I would choose it. They are pathetic. My daughter was put into a coma by Louis Leipoldt Hospital, Dr Boer, because of horrific negligence. He was protected by Theresa Wilson and the HPCSA. My daughter passed away after a few months. Dr Boer and Theresa Wilson claims that my daughter was admitted with pneumonia, although I have blood tests and x-rays with a report stating that my daughter did not have pneumonia when she was admitted. DSC law explained to me in so many words that because my daughter is disabled and did not have dependents or loss of income, which means we will not be able to claim a lot of money, they will not be interested in taking this case as they take a percentage of the money. They also tried to convince me that I dont have a very strong case. How stronger can it get if you have the hospital's own tests that they done on the day of admission, stating that my daughter did not have pneumonia. DSC law is pathetic. They dont give a damn about what happened to you, for them its all about the money, so those nice words on their website, are brutal lies, false advertising.

Horrible service since day 1. For a company that's been open for 20 years one would think they know how to deal with their customers and be on time. I was in a motorcycle accident and had asked them to assist me to claim for the Road Accident Fund, I was told to drive to them for consultation, which i couldn't as my motorcycle was written off. They then said they would send a driver to pick me up between 8-9am, at 9:20am still no sign of any driver and the person whom I was contacting on whatsapp told me to make use of my own transport after I had told them I dont have transport. If this is what it's like dealing with this company in the start only I wouldn't recommend anyone to deal with them. Horrible customer care, beyond Horrible, the attitude they give when you talk to them on whatsapp as well.

I signed with DSC in 2018,finally, nearly 6 years later I signed a settlement offer. I recieved an email from them on the 14nth of August 2024 stating they needed to see me between the 19nth to the 21st(I had to choose which day was most suitable for me). I signed the offer on the 19nth of August and was told I'd get my copy of the settlement and I have been waiting till date. I requested an advance, gave reasons and I believe even submitted substantial evidence and they just are not forthcoming with me. All I was told was that I was not going to get the requested advance, no reasons were shared whatsoever. I have been waiting for the attorney to get back to me for nearly a month now and also to send my copy of of the settlement letter. Also, I pleaded that if they didn't wish to grant me the advance due to whatever reason, then perhaps they could allow me to outsource it from 3rd parties. I did outsource, just that DSC was not willing to co-operate nor even sign the damn understanding!!!! They're fine with them getting their 25% and whatever more costs, then to hell with whatever happens next.. So long they're sure they'll get their % since I've accepted the offer. I am at my wits end with those people and I am starting to think that I am getting ignored due to the color of my skin as they're being praised by the people of another race as per their Facebook page!!! They do NOT even deserve the 1 star I gave them😑
