I am deeply disappointed and distressed by my experience with Eastvaal Motors Witbank.
I purchased a Renault Triber that was explicitly represented to me as a 2026 demo model with 150km mileage. I am based in Cape Town, and the transaction was conducted remotely.
Upon delivery, I was shocked to discover that the vehicle delivered had approximately 14,800km on the odometer. This was a material and fundamental misrepresentation of the product sold to me.
I immediately contacted the salesperson, whose response showed no surprise. On 10 January, I formally notified both the dealership and the financing bank that I was rejecting the vehicle in terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
To date:
The dealership has failed to collect the misrepresented vehicle
I have not received registration papers
The vehicle is not registered in my name
I am being expected to make payments for a vehicle I lawfully rejected
This situation has caused significant stress and emotional distress. I believe my physical distance from the dealership and the fact that I am a woman contributed to how casually my rights have been disregarded.
I am still seeking:
Immediate collection of the vehicle
Cancellation of the finance agreement
Written confirmation that my credit profile will not be affected
Best regards,
