Leaving us cold

<p>Good day</p> <p>We received a REPLACEMENT king size electric blanket after the one we bought at the start of 2014\'s winter, stopped working.</p> <p>We only received it in September 2014, so we used it for the first time during the winter of 2015 without any problems.</p> <p>When we started to use it during this winter - after it was left on the bed throughout all seasons - it burnt through the cover on two places. Where my mother\'s belly usually is, it didn\'t burn through the cover, but extreme heat burnt blisters on my mother\'s side.</p> <p>I have pictures of all these burns.</p> <p>As for my own electric blanket, I bought my second single bed electric blanket in two years and was relieved to see that the warrantee/guarantee is now 2 years.</p> <p>We were so excited about the safety features when we initially bought our blankets, but it seems they only have a life of 1 year, which is really not very economical.</p> <p>My parents are now very scared to use an electric blanket...</p> <p>I still use mine which is between the matress and a down filled bed pillow and trust that it will not soon or one day \"burn itself\" or my bed pillow.</p> <p>Thank you</p>
