5 weeks ago, I drove my vehicle to work and when it was time to leave it didn't want to start. No smoke, no funny noises, no warning lights-it cranked but didn't start at all. Got some mechanics out to come have a look, they said its the ECU. To me it didn't make sense + I don't know the mechanics so I thought I'd get a second opinion. Took it to the Germiston branch, first I asked regarding a replacement unit but booked it in anyway to see what the results were. Got the report, it said 'Replace ECU'. Nothing else, no repair option - just replace.
I collected it that same afternoon, purchased a new ECU, had the software loaded. Plugged it in and...same fault code???
Then we replaced the injectors, it then started but wasn't 100%. Long story short, the issue was 2 wires that was corroded, we then plugged in the original ECU and there you go!!!
So, I emailed these guys from ECU express, asking if they could explain to me how they came about the results. For every 3 emails you send you might get 1 reply and even though my question was clear - they haven't given me an answer as yet...
Its really ****ty coming from a company you trust and rely on as I only purchased another ECU based on their results. Now, I'm stuck with it and they don't give a ****. I'd like someone to contact me and explain how did this happen???
Let's see if they do -
