I took my Ecu in for testing. They gave me a report of multiple faults. They quoted me a major price (I am a pensioner) - over 6k to repair. I paid 50% deposit. 5 days later they phoned me and told me the Ecu was repaired. I went to fetch it and asked for a report after fixing - should be tested and a report issued. They told me it's fixed and there's no report. The technician repairing my car fitted the Ecu and it did not work. He did a diagnostics and found the Ecu had the same faults that it had before repairing. I suspect that the repair technicians are not properly trained to repair ECU's. I am really disappointed that a company like Ecu Express can do such bad work. This is a very bad reflection on the company and it damages the reputability of the said company. I am returning the Ecu and want an immediate repair and a report after the repair. I am not waiting 7 days as they advertise. Very unhappy pensioner.

In December last year I purchased a EDU unit from ECU Express , I drove from their offices to the mechanic who installed it and let me know that it was faulty , 3 days later I returned the unit to them and explained the unit was faulty , I was told they would test it and get back to me , after many phone calls and messages I eventually after 2 weeks got a message to say that the unit was faulty due to a spike , after many non returned calls and messages I eventually got hold of the owner 3 months later who said he would get back to me with in an hour he wanted to find out what was going on , 3 weeks later I had still heard nothing and called him again he then informed me that the unit was brought back faulty and there would be a charge so my refund would be less than what I paid , another 2 months past I never heard anything again about my refund or the return of the unit I paid for Faulty or not I then called Mr Ron the owner once again but this time he just said he doesn't recall anything and would get back to me , it's been almost 11 months since I paid for the faulty unit , other than the one message I received about the unit being faulty I have never received a call back from them regarding the refund or the return of the faulty unit and I am not holding my breath that I will ever receive the refund or the unit the staff are not helpful at all and the owner is just as bad their client service is non existent and the quality of the products they sell or supposedly repair is shocking the test results they give are very inaccurate and somewhat contradictory for anyone that wants to have a unit repaired or to purchase a new /second hand ECU or EDU I recommend you don't use ECU Express they are ****mers and are more than happy to take your money

5 weeks ago, I drove my vehicle to work and when it was time to leave it didn't want to start. No smoke, no funny noises, no warning lights-it cranked but didn't start at all. Got some mechanics out to come have a look, they said its the ECU. To me it didn't make sense + I don't know the mechanics so I thought I'd get a second opinion. Took it to the Germiston branch, first I asked regarding a replacement unit but booked it in anyway to see what the results were. Got the report, it said 'Replace ECU'. Nothing else, no repair option - just replace. I collected it that same afternoon, purchased a new ECU, had the software loaded. Plugged it in and...same fault code??? Then we replaced the injectors, it then started but wasn't 100%. Long story short, the issue was 2 wires that was corroded, we then plugged in the original ECU and there you go!!! So, I emailed these guys from ECU express, asking if they could explain to me how they came about the results. For every 3 emails you send you might get 1 reply and even though my question was clear - they haven't given me an answer as yet... Its really ****ty coming from a company you trust and rely on as I only purchased another ECU based on their results. Now, I'm stuck with it and they don't give a ****. I'd like someone to contact me and explain how did this happen??? Let's see if they do -

I am utterly disgusted by ECU EXPRESS. I am an ex employee of ECU EXPRESS Bedfordview my contract ended on the 14th of June 2025. When I left I was given my service letter then I was told that I will be sent my salary schedule letter and UI_19 form on the 1st of July 2025. I had to follow up with them on the 1st of July 2025 and they only sent me the documents after 8pm, when I received the documents and opened them the UI-19 form had so much missing information and errors. Firstly my salary that I was earning was R10 000 before deductions but on that form they wrote that I was getting R5136 and some cents and the hours they wrote I was working 96 hours that's incorrect I was working Monday to Friday 8 - 5 then Saturdays 8 - 1pm another thing is under their employer details on the SARS block they didn't write anything those blocks are blank, their Adress that they wrote there is wrong it's a forged Adress, there is no telephone number and email written on there. One digit of my ID number is not clear and that alone can make my claim be rejected. When I call labour they say ECU EXPRESS is not on the system as the last company I have worked for I then sent the director which is Tumi and the HR lady named Connie an email to please fix that form and send me the correct one they point blank ignored me. I then went to their Google reviews and wrote a review and was then sent an email by the Director that I must remove my review within 2 hours because I was sent the UI-19 form and it is the correct one I should just take it to labour. Tomorrow 10th July 2025 I am going to labour to find out for myself if everything is corresponding as they have on their system if all doesn't go well and my claim gets rejected I will go to Tik Tok and make a video will tag all the relavant people including EFF to assist me in this matter beacause I see ECU EXPRESS likes to play with people. I want what belongs to me, yes the money that was deducted was not much only R100s but I still want my money I have to use it to go to interviews with it while I am still here at home.

After many phone calls and messages it's now been 4 weeks and still not one single person has contacted me back to let me know when the issue will be resolved , the service was fantastic , until the funds were paid over from that second on the service and communication has been worse than poor it is non existent before you pay over a cent to these people rather find an alternative company there are many at least you will not have the same issues 100s of us are sitting with with ECU Express

I contacted Ron about my EDU he was very quick to say they have stock and it would be R6000 , I went to the branch and I took my old EDU with with testing to make sure that , this was the issue with my car , I was called 2 hours later and told the EDU was faulty beyond economic repair , so I would need the replacement unit. So I paid the money and took the unit to the mechanic, with in 20 min of me leaving the mechanic called me and said the unit is faulty could I please bring my old unit back , I took it to him within 30 min he called and said my car is running it was a small problem with the EDU that has now been repaired , I contacted ECU express and informed them that the unit was faulty and I was brining it back , I was told that they would have to test the unit and this would take 1 day (mine was tested in 2 hours ) and once testing was done they would give me feed back the next day , 3 days past so I called them and was told the technician will call me with in the hour to explain it's now been a further week and no call from the technician or Ron who now doesn't answer messages or calls and still no refund. I would not recommend this company to anyone and further more I will be taking the case to the motor Aumbustman as well
