Formal Complaint Regarding Medical Treatment and Administrative Conduct Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against the hospital administration, the administrative supervisor, attending staff, and the doctors’ offices regarding the events that took place on 19 February. On the morning of 19 February, I was informed by my doctor that I had tested positive for COVID-19 and that, due to my condition, I needed to be admitted for medical care. Following this instruction, I went to the doctor’s rooms to seek further assistance and guidance regarding my admission and treatment. From that point onward, I experienced a series of challenges that caused me distress, confusion, and unnecessary delays in receiving appropriate care. There was a lack of clear communication, coordination, and professionalism between the doctor’s offices, hospital administration, and staff. I was not adequately guided through the admission process, and I felt unsupported during a time when I was medically vulnerable.Even speaking to my uncle he was so distressed at the continuous mistreatment we had to endure and he told me that the nurses kept asking him if he signed some form.I was the one who signed his admission forms and indemnity. This is my problem these nurses including admin supervisor are not educated or trained but like using terms they themselves don't understand. The patient is there he has given his consent to me me getting whatever i need they didn't consult him, they just said NO,the stickers belong to her,the POPI act he even said they must give me and they ignored him.Even he was distressed at their continuous mistreatment. Even Drs don't mind they just give us to help us,they never treat us like like that but the nurses and they ganging up on patients (they did this when they were chasing my daughter out of hospital premises when gems had already paid for the whole day. They even requested for her saying she must go.Im not sure if it was the same controller working on that day and the one that was called because she said I have to write an email explaining why I wanted it,i even asked the patient is here consenting to it ask him.Was told write an email.I will attach that email here Additionally, the conduct of certain staff members and the administrative supervisor was concerning. I felt that my condition and situation were not handled with the seriousness, empathy, and urgency required, particularly given the health risks associated with COVID-19. This experience negatively affected my physical and emotional well-being and left me feeling neglected and unheard as a patient. I believe that the standard of care and administrative handling I received fell below acceptable professional and ethical standards. I am requesting that this matter be formally investigated and that appropriate steps be taken to address the conduct of the staff and systems involved. I also request feedback on the outcome of this complaint and what measures will be implemented to prevent similar experiences for other patients. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Yours sincerely, Bianca Mabele

On the morning of 17 October 2025, I was informed that I was scheduled for an X-ray that same morning. I was asked by nurses when lasy I ate. I informed them that I ate at 9pm the night before. I was therefore not allowed to eat breakfast in preparation. I waited to be taken for the scan. At around 12pm, I informed that the scan was rescheduled ro tomorrow. I would therefore not be allowed to eat solid foods until the following day. This would mean that I would be starved for 48 hours. Had proper procedure been followed, I would have been allowed to have breakfast. I am diaberic. It is crucial that I do not skip meals. As I type this, my blood sugar level is dangerously low. The nurses have not been helpful at all and refuse to intervene. This experience has left me feeling absolutely miserable. I will be informing anyone and everyone in my circle to not come to this hospital anymore.

I was admitted for migraines at Eden Gardens Medical 2. And on the 28th of July, Nurse Ngcobo asked to speak to me and closed the curtain, he asked me “unjani mowunje” which means “are you happy with yourself”. He then proceeds to tell me this one was my one shot of coming clean to the psychologist so I can get help and go to rehab because I am using drugs. He tells me how they hadn’t even given me the Tramal yet but I’m already out of it, meanwhile it’s the medication that makes me drowsy. He said that I am always sleeping meanwhile I’m in a hospital, what else am I meant to be doing. The first dosage of the tramal was administered by him and he told me how drowsy it would make me feel so I find it extremely strange how now it was a problem that it was knocking me out. He further stated that the person who always visited me ( Who is a doctor by profession) is the one bringing me the drugs.

I was admitted on the 8/04/2024.On Wednesday the 10/04/24 I was continuously mistreated by Sr Mbongwa. It was around 9:15 when I was supposed to go for ultrasound and x-ray when I asked her why wasn't I fetched as yet she just looked at her colleague and smiled, another nurse had to intervene I was taken to these departments at 9:15. In the evening my doctor said I was admitted for long in January (I don't know wich nurses told him because I was in the other ward). The patients charter clearly states my right to privacy and not being discriminated against but your staff completely violated this,I'm still crying writing this,I'm hurt, angry and saddened that everyone knows my illnesses, the nurses pledge says the opposite of how I was treated,it brings up so many bad questions with the training that your staff has(you dont even get this in public hospitals).Further more on that day the dr tild mbongwa to change and put me on a the standard diet she purposefully did not,i had to ask the ladies which delivers the food, then only it was changed also after that we were talking with the other patient across from me and mbongwa told us to keep quite i even told her that they always making noise at the nurses station but we never ever tell them to keep quite. Also my daughter was admitted they stole her chocolates, what kind of nurses are these? She was in isolation and she asked for blankets because the Aircon was always on but she wasn't given a blanket and her water was not changed front the day she was taken to isolation. It's a pity because some nurses were very polite, helpful and mostly didn't make us feel like we were being a nuisance to them, thank you to the following staff, funeka, noxolo zondi(forever so sweet always),miya,Zuma,(you the best)ndlela ,zwane and to my 2 ladies who brought us food nomcebo and refilwe thank you

On the 8th January 2024 my daughter was admitted, she said the nurse that first attended to her kept ignoring her when she asked for a blanket and the nurse poked her twice and couldn't get the vein and said the other nurse will help her out. The doctor had discharged her on the Friday and told the nurse that they must discharge her in the evening,(I had requested the Dr to discharge her in the evening as I was working till 18:00.They discharged her on purpose at 10:00,why I say on purpose is because nurses in eden gardens have the tendancy to chase patients away,I've also been a victim of this previously.I did call the hospital spoke to Sr Gas and a controller they offered transpot instead and said it's not allowed that the patient stays i will be charged after 12. It was the nurses fault,if your staff purposefully or neglects to write that the patient must be discharged in the evening why must the patient be chased away. I had to leave work so early (after requesting the overtime)to be home.My daughter was not given the survey to rate her stay and she said the nurses were talking negatively about her and she just wanted to be out of there. As I mentioned I've Al been bul**** by a nurse previously and this felt like a continuous victimisation because I complained
