I’m a paying customer from Nkandla, Emcakweni (Nkonisa area). Two weeks ago, we lost electricity due to strong winds. We reported it to Eskom (Ref: 96538****), but no one came. After over a week with no response, the electricity was eventually restored — we assumed Eskom had finally resolved the issue.
Then yesterday, Eskom arrived and disconnected our electricity again, claiming that some people in the area don’t buy electricity. This is deeply frustrating and unfair.
Why should paying, law-abiding customers be punished for the actions of others? Eskom should follow a door-to-door process, checking each household and dealing directly with those not complying — not switch off the power for an entire community.
This approach is unprofessional and makes paying customers feel neglected and disrespected. We deserve fair treatment and urgent answers.
