I was looking for a property for myself and my kids when I came across one that I loved, but it wasn’t available for immediate move-in. The agent showed me another property within the same complex that was available. My intention was to buy the property while waiting for my divorce to be finalized. I signed the OTP, which expired in 30 days, and made the space liveable as it was initially a mess. I asked the agent for permission to renovate the place and received the go-ahead. Both the owner and the agent were aware of the work done. We lived in this property for almost two years without any formal agreement or contact from the agent or the owner. I continued paying my rent as agreed when I moved in. In December, the owner decided to sell the house since my divorce was dragging on. I was informed that the agent I had been dealing with resigned, and I met the new agent. I informed the new agent about the work done and requested reimbur*****t. Initially, we were on the same page, but she later suggested I deal with the owner directly. Because of the work I did, the house was sold within a month of listing. The agent had struggled to sell this unit, which is why it was vacant for me to move in immediately. I feel that FINE HOME ****med me, and I want my money back!
