I’ve had a payment arrangement for my loan accounts with through Brookes and Luyt for a few months now and, according to my knowledge, there has been enough money in my account for this arrangement to be honoured for every time. I’m aware that, regardless of my instruction for the required amount to be debited and there being funds, there was a glitch and a payment or 2 were missed for the one account. This after I had taken the time to go into one of your branches to ensure that this would not happen. Ok, mistakes happen so I chilled. The issue was rectified and payments are being made accordingly. Despite this being the case, I am inundated with calls from Brookes and Luyt, all claiming various things, at least 4 times each week. Of course these calls are being made by a different individual each time, and I always have to refer them to Tonderai (the person with whom I have been in contact and made an arrangement through and agreed on terms with). And of course, just as the icing on the cake, the Agents are rude and demeaning. Now I’d like to just understand a few things here for my own peace of mind going forward. Does being in debt make one any less of a human being and does it strip you of the right to basic respect? Does being in debt authorise your Agents to scoff at me and begin sentences with “You should have thought of that before….”? Am I now classified as a nobody who may be spoken to in any manner your Agents see fit? I received a call at 8:51am; 9:59am; 11:07am and 12:17pm on Saturday alone. These by preceded by the 3+ I received during the week. Were they taking turns calling me just for fun? Was there a pool going? Does your system have a comment section where an Agent can note important information? This morning, Njabulo Ngubane helped kick-start my week at 8:00am. Again, he appears to be under the impression that he’s allowed to raise his voice at me and let me know which bridge to go jump off of. I’m genuinely confused by this behaviour. Especially when I’m not missing any payments and have informed your people that I’m not in a position to increase the amount at this time. Why are they even calling me? These people received my personal information from FNB and it seems you’re in bed with them, therefore, I am directing my complaint to you. I don’t appreciate the harassment and I appreciate the manner in which I am being spoken to by your associates. I would appreciate that they cease contact with me for as long as I’m honouring my payments. I will make contact when I’m in a position to either pay more or settle.
