My son, Meerten van Wyk, travelled from Durban through Dubai to Olbia in Sardinia arriving lunch time on Saturday 22 July. He booked his ticket online on the Emirates website. His bag was lost after check-in in Jhb by either Emirates or FlyDubai. It was properly reported at Olbia airport and on FlyDubai airline's website. Emirates refused to get involved stating that although the complete itinerary was booked through them it was FlyDubai's problem as they were the last in the queue. Tracking the process through FlyDubai's website they are stating that the bag will fly from Dubai to Olbia only tomorrow the 25th and only thereafter will arrangements begin to get it delivered. I think it is shocking to leave a young man with nothing for at least 3 days. This bag should have been delivered to him at the very least the next day. FlyDubai's customer service simply put there hands up and direct you to the baggage department. The baggage department refuse to assist in expediting the bag as it is Olbia airport's responsibility according to them. I tried to call the number from Olbia airport at the start already but the options is only in Italian. This is shocking customer services by both FlyDubai and Emirates.
