I've taken out a policy on my own name a few years ago. It's always been setup as a debit order. Today, i thought id check out all my deductions and did not find anything for the freedomlife/shoprite funeral policy. I tried phoning them to find out if all was in order, but the number did not work. I emailed them and the mail returned saying it doesnt exist anymore. What happened to my money Ive been paying for years? Where is it and why is it not being deducted anymore?

Myself and my mother have tried to contact freedom life insurance for days to weeks now the phone keeps on ringing then they shut the line down. This is extremely disappointing as they have a new rule that customers cannot pay with their I.d number no more they need a certain reference which makes it impossible for my mother to pay her insurance because she have a new number and therefore would like to inform freedom life insurance of this change and to obtain her reference should she not get hold of this business there is no way she can pay her insurance which will be for the second month and it may lapse. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Urgently need a contact number of this company in order to do payments. Thanks

My Sister in Christ lost her Brother he died the 12th of July, he stayed with her and she took care of him as he suffered a stroke and was challenged in many ways. The Brother had a funeral policy that they brought through the Shoprite/ Checkers chain stores as per the receipts they received after paying diligently every single month, on the receipt is written, Freedom Life R430./ Insurer as per receipt is Old Mutual Alternative Risk Transfer, of which i know OM is the underwriter, i also know that OM might not be aware of this, but be as it may the benefit was a funeral policy and it never defaulted, however my Sister claim was declined, a straight forward funeral policy. She went to shoprite in search of help of which they promised to assist. I am seeking justice as this is unacceptable and she still needs to cover funeral costs as she had to loan money. One thing certain my experience with OM has always been a good one and they find every reason to pay. If its a broker as per the receipt please give this your urgent attention as the policy was purchased at shoprite and we have all the receipts to validate the claim.

My husband has been trying to get hold of Freedom Life Funeral Cover department for days now to check if our policy is still in place and active after receiving a text message advising that it will lapse because of nonpayment . We know for a fact that we have never skipped a payment not even ones since the inception of the policy. He even sent a call back message and called the claims department but nothing has happened. What if we were trying to report death and put a claim through?? and get them to process the payment???? They are so pathetic and disgusting. This scares me, what will happen when we actually want to put a claim through. They are very quick at taking our money but they really are pathetic. Their phones are forever on voice mail. I hope this will make you get your act together. From a very concerned customer

I skipped 2 months on my primiums and the policy lapsed just like that, on the 3rd month I went 2 pay all my primiums and I was told that there's nothing they do to reinstate my policy. It was just over like that after 5 years with the policy

This company took over a company called freedom live and my mother in law had a policy which I was responsible for paying, I had been paying this policy for a number of years but since they tookover, every month I used the pay@ option to pay, it kept declining and when I emailed them attaching screenshots of rejected payments, they didnt reply, when we called, they said the policy lapsed and we told them that the payment couldnt go through, they said theu would call back, this was a few weeks back and to date we still waiting, I really wish we were still with freedom live cz this one aint gonna work out.I want all the money I paid ober the years if they cant reinstate that policy
