Our Mum was admitted to Busamed Gateway Hospital in Umhlanga. She has been admitted to ICU2 and is very ill. The service from the nurses is really disgusting. My Mum couldn't breathe and all the nurses said is that the medication should kick in and went back to use her cellphone.
Most of the nurses in ICU were busy on their cellphones and had no interest in the patients. Surely the management should have some standards. The whole reason for employing these nurses are to look after the patients - and if they are not interested in looking after the patients - they should be replaced.
Further to this, being a hospital, the nurses don't seem to be very hygienic. They attend to different patients without sanitizing their hands, etc. Straws are given by nurses to patients and left on wet unhygienic tables.
Management needs to put in stricter rules for the nurses. It actually seemed like we entered a government hospital.
Very disappointing service!!!
