Complaint against GoBid – Misrepresentation of Vehicle & Poor Resolution

I purchased a vehicle from GoBid via their online auction on 26/04/2026. The vehicle was advertised as a 2017 Volkswagen Polo Vivo 1.6 GTS with approximately 56,000 km and listed as a Code 2 vehicle. Upon collection, I discovered the vehicle was not as advertised. It is actually a 1.4 Polo Vivo that has been cosmetically altered to resemble a GTS model, and it also has a serious engine bearing knock. I raised the issue on 28/04/2026 and dealt with Michelle Botes and Kyle Motssen. Despite reporting the clear discrepancy between the advertised and received vehicle, GoBid has not provided a fair resolution or taken accountability. This has resulted in financial loss and significant frustration. I believe this falls under misrepresentation in terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), as the product delivered does not match what was advertised. I am now escalating the matter as GoBid has failed to resolve it appropriately.
