Highly disappointed for firstly paying full fee, for the major rides that are closed, took teenagers for their first experience and felt very ashamed, Secondly this was not noted on the website, that is false advertising, Thirdly I came there to be advised I need to book tickets online, again not noted on the website. I have been coming to Gold Reef for years, normally I book in the hotel just to realize the hectic price increase, This is very disappointing what is happening and how are you doing to correct this.

How is Maude Molapi a manager at Gold reef city? Omg that woman is so aggressive and violent. I bought 7 tickets the 26th for my family and I. I arrived around 11h30am on the 27th. I started taking pictures with my nephew by the pink flower bush at the ticket box when Maude Molapi approached me saying she received multiple complaints about my skort being right undermy bum (bear in mind I was there less than 5 minutes). I pulled it down cuz im quite tall so im used to clothes looking shorter on me cuz i have longer legs n she said that she still can't let me in. She told me security would have to escort me to buy something longer. I said I understood n had no problem to which she walked me to one of the security guards named Mbuyiseni n asked him to escort me. At that moment a shorter woman wearing a mini skirt that's right under her bum walked passed us (u can check cctv footage) so I asked Maude Molapi why she wasn't dress coding the other girl in the mini skirt that's also right under her bum to which Maude told me to stop questioning her because she already told me she's not letting me in. I told her I have no issues buying a longer clothing item but my issue is when rules aren't uniformly app**** to which she told me to shush. I said excuse me n asked for her name n she refused to answer so I took out my phone to take a picture of her badge. Maude Molapi then snatched my phone from me n screamed at me telling me not to record her cuz of POPI. I told her to give me my phone n that was taking a pic of her badge like i told her since she refused to tell me her name. She then barged at me n got in my face screaming telling me not to F-ing record her. I told her multiple times to stop shouting n pointing in my face but she kept doing it (u can see the CCTV footage). I then barged into her n yelled telling her that I told her to stop pointing in my face n screaming at me cuz im not screaming to which she backed away. I then said u see how it feels the she started yelling n pointing again telling me that she told me i can't get in if I don't get something longer n I said I literally just said I have no problem doing so but why u not dress coding others n she kept yelling the same thing as if i didn't just agree already cuz it's honestly not that deep. I asked Mbuyiseni multiple times who was there the whole time to confirm that he saw her being aggressive towards me but he refused to answer probably cuz she's a manager n he doesn't wanna lose his job. Nthabiseng showed up n tried to de-escalate the situation n customers were even telling Maude to calm down (check cctv footage). Maude then walked away n yelled saying her name is Maude Molapi n I can go complain if I want, she's a manager. Nthabiseng then walked me to a shop where I bought tights n explained the situation. I asked to speak to their manager but Nthabiseng said there's no managers above them n gave me some email address for ticket inquiries n told me to submit my complaint there cuz she can't do anything because Maude n her are on the same level. My phone luckily got a snippet of the situation before she used my phone without my permission to end the recording then gave it to some South african lady. Im congolese so I don't know why she assumed we together cuz what if my phone was stole... then what. I also have pictures of my outfit before n after I bought longer tights.

I was so disappointed when I visited Gold Reef City Theme park, they claim that when it’s your birthday the entrance is free. I bought three tickets and the fourth one was supposed to be free as it’s my daughters birthday. However when I got there and produced a certified birth certificate I was informed that it was not sufficient and wanted an original. We travelled for approximately an hour to get there was no way I would drive back to get an original. To avoid spoiling my daughters birthday I bought the fourth ticket. As if I would lie about my daughter’s birthday, rather not promise such then not keep to it.

My recent Thursday visit to Gold Reef Theme Park with a friend, expecting a calm day of rides, was infuriating and ruined by chaos. Initially, one school group arrived and seemed manageable, but by midday, ten different school groups flooded the park, turning queues into disorderly and chaotic mobs. We waited patiently in lines that barely moved, as hordes of kids rudely cut in front, shoving us and hurling insults without remorse. I tried politely addressing their behavior, but their hostility made enjoying rides impossible. The staff’s complete inaction and ignoring the no-pushing rule and allowing chaos to reign as well as letting kids under the height regulation on the rides was outrageous. Their negligence left us feeling powerless and cheated out of a memorable day. Gold Reef’s lack of crowd control and disregard for guests was disgraceful, and I won’t return or recommend it until major changes are made.

My recent visit to Gold Reef Theme Park with a dear friend, who was in town for just a week, turned into an utterly exasperating and disheartening experience that left us both thoroughly disillusioned. We deliberately chose a Thursday, naively assuming it would offer a respite from the chaotic, overcrowded weekends that are notorious for endless queues. Our hope was for a relaxed, enjoyable day where we could savor the thrill of the rides without the hassle of excessive wait times. Regrettably, our expectations were not just unmet but spectacularly shattered. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the sight of a single school field trip group, which, while not ideal, seemed manageable. However, as the morning wore on, the park transformed into a chaotic free-for-all, with no fewer than ten separate school groups flooding the grounds by midday. The sheer volume of children created an oppressive atmosphere, turning what should have been a fun outing into a test of patience and endurance. We found ourselves trapped in queues that were less lines and more stagnant, disorderly mobs. We’d stand in place for 20 minutes or longer, only to watch in disbelief as the line regressed rather than progressed. Hordes of children, with no regard for basic courtesy, brazenly shoved their way to the front, elbowing past us and other guests without a hint of remorse. A line that should have only taken 10 turned into hlaf an hour to even an hour. I attempted to address this behavior with civility, gently reminding the children that everyone must wait their turn, just as those ahead of them had patiently done. I understand the occasional need to hold a spot for a friend or two, but the audacity of groups—often five or more kids at a time—relentlessly cutting in front of us, even when no one was waiting for them, was beyond infuriating. Their conduct was not only disruptive but downright hostile, as they hurled rude remarks and physically pushed and jostled us until we had no choice but to yield or risk escalation. This relentless barrage of disrespect made enjoying the rides not just difficult but virtually impossible, *****ing the entire experience with frustration and discomfort. Compounding this misery was the deplorable inaction of the park’s staff. They stood idly by, seemingly indifferent as these children flouted the clearly stated no-pushing rule with impunity. Not once did we witness an employee intervene to restore order or enforce basic queue etiquette. Their apathy was maddening, as it allowed the chaos to spiral unchecked, leaving courteous guests like us feeling powerless and disregarded. Even kids who were not tall enough for the rids were allowed on the roller coaster and weren't even attempted to be turned away. The complete lack of crowd management or rule enforcement transformed what should have been a delightful day into an exasperating ordeal that tested our patience to its limits. In the end, Gold Reef Theme Park delivered a profoundly disappointing experience, marred by unruly crowds and negligent staff who seemed content to let chaos reign. The absence of any effort to maintain order or ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all guests was nothing short of disgraceful. I left the park feeling cheated out of what could have been a memorable day with my friend. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Gold Reef to anyone seeking a well-organized, pleasant theme park adventure, and I’m reluctant to return until significant improvements are made.

My sister took her son for his birthday as we know it's free for your birthday. She has his birth certificate on her phone and had her original ID with her for details to match his birth certificate. They refused for her to bring him in for free and required the original birth certificate. Why would we carry original documents to a theme park and risk them getting lost. Why don't the terms and conditions say original instead of digital. that took her completely out of budget as their prices have sky rocketed and i feel she should get a discount as this was the most unfair treatment she received.

You should be able to buy an entrance only ticket online. Paying R295.00 just so I can grant a birthday wish for my child is really not right. I have a problem with my back and therefore cannot go on most of the rides. This being said my daughter and friend really enjoyed themselves.

Tsogo Sun Gold Reef City Theme Park Good day I’m really disappointed by Tsogo Sun as they promised to refund me of my duplicate ticket for the Theme Park and they never bothered. I even called to confirm if the received my email query and the confirmed receipt of it. The duplicate ticket number was 20250416-12865384, which I needed refund for. The amount was R1180,00 for four people. The ticket number I used at the Theme Park was 20250416-12865019.I provided them with bank card details the duplicate ticket was bought from. The duplicate ticket was as a result of their website freezing, so I went on trying again not knowing that the first purchase went through. I can be reached on 0844825856. Regards ****son
