Cannot get them to come out and fix the slope of all my gutters
Gutter Friends came out and installed gutters on my house. At their request I paid a deposit to secure them coming out and wanted to hold back the last bit until the job was finished satisfactorily. They pressured me into paying the last big which I did. Not one of my gutters flows the right way towards the downpipe. Every single one has water pooling and leaking out the seams.
I emailed to ask them to come out, and they said they would, and it took about 6 more emails to get them to commit to a date. That date came and passed without them coming out and not even a phone call or message from them to apologise or reschedule.
I will now pay another company to come out and fix their work.
Would not recommend them.

08 Jun 2024, 06:53Following me posting this complaint on Hello Peter I received a WhatsApp message from Gutter Friends and an email, plus they tried to phone me at 7pm. After introducing himself as Derrick from Gutter Friends, the very next thing in his message was "Please remove your post". He then tells me they haven't said they won't come out (yet they made no effort to come out, and when there was an agreed appointment for the 18th of May when they simply never turned up nor apologised for. The WhatsApp goes on to tell me they had an internal issue which is now resolved and they can now schedule an appointment for next week. I'm then told to please remove my post and then they can schedule a date for next week. In other words I must first remove my Hello Peter post before they will come and fix their shoddy installation.
40 minutes later I get a follow up message telling me they can't find any quote given to me, questioning whether I ever had work done by them and telling me this is the reason nobody came out. I ask then why nobody questioned this with me before - it could have been quickly addressed. I also wonder why the first message says they never came out because they had an internal issue which is now resolved. Of course the reason is simply because they never wanted to come out.
I made it clear that they've had plenty of opportunity to sort out the problem and never, yet suddenly now that I post on Hello Peter they are contacting me and wanting to fix the issue. I told them to not bother now because I will get someone else to fix their mess. I got accused of being a random person posting a bad review of them on Hello Peter.
What I can tell you through all the emails and these WhatsApp messages is that not once did they apologise for the shoddy workmanship. Not once did they apologise for the runaround given to me and for not pitching up to their appointment. All I got was arrogance.
I am 100% an ex-customer of theirs and can provide evidence of such, despite them accusing me of not.
Let this be a lesson to them to learn from : treat your customers with respect and go out your way to address after-sales issues.
