I deeply regret ever signing up with Help24 — a company that masquerades as a private security provider, yet fails at every basic level of the job.

For months, they’ve had zero presence in our area: no patrols, no visibility, no engagement. When real incidents occurred, they were nowhere. What they offer is not security — it’s a false sense of safety wrapped in a logo and stuck to a gate.

One chilling evening, while I was away, my wife and children were home alone and noticed someone lurking on our property. In fear, she contacted me. I tried calling the Help24 office, their only visible patroller, and even the manager. No answer. No help. No response — even after triggering the panic button. To this day, we’ve heard nothing. Had it not been for our neighbours — and me speeding home — I dread what the outcome might have been. That night we were abandoned by the very company we were paying to protect us.

I cancelled my contract more than two months ago as a result of this gross negligence. And yet, Help24 had the audacity to *******ly debit my account once again this week, without authorisation or justification. I have asked — repeatedly — for a copy of my signed contract. None has ever been produced. I even confirmed via WhatsApp with their own staff that I was no longer a client.

Still, they helped themselves to my bank account, even demanding a R2,000 cancellation fee.

I issued a final demand: • Immediate refund of the unauthorised debit • Written confirmation that billing is terminated • Complete removal of my personal and banking details from their system

What have I received? Nothing. No refund. No apology. No basic accountability.

Let me make it crystal clear: Help24 is not a security company. It is a predatory, billing-first operation hiding behind flashing lights and marketing fluff. They are not just ineffective — they are dangerous in their false promises. Their negligence could get someone killed.

If you’re considering them for your home, business or family — don’t. Help24 offers no help. No protection. No integrity. I am now moving forward with:

• Formal complaints to the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud and Banking Ombudsman • Filing a ***** report with my bank • Sharing this review across every relevant online and community platform

Avoid Help24 at all costs. They are not security — they are a liability.
