Just managed to wean my last pet off HILLS diet HILLS Continue to make it extremely difficult difficult to feed your pet dog consistently on their food The DERM food can only be bought through Veterinary clinics, as it is subscription only and where I’m living in Overstrand, the veterinary clinics put an outrageous markup on top of the product price If you have a Yorkie or a miniature poodle, the minimum size food bag of 4.5 KG is quite outrageous One continues to throw 2 to 3 kg in the bin as it is stale by the time you get to the bottom half of the bag I have asked so many people and I’ve asked so many veterinarians and I’ve asked so many pet food outlets if there is not a smaller bag available Does heels have no idea how much a Yorkie consumes!?? Why is it so difficult to get a 1.5 or a 2 kg bag of heels, dog food for your pet dog? I am now totally tired of dealing with this **** Thank God, I’ve weaned my dogs off HILLS and will no longer buy HILLS for my pets Another arrogant company who doesn’t deserve to be in business

Got the Hills Metabolic weight loss and management for our pug. Very bad decision. She basically refuses to eat after following the phase out page in process from previous dog food to new Hills. Also has a bad smell attracting flies. Royal Canin far more superior brand

We regularly buy the Hill’s Derm Complete for our yorkies, but we’ve noticed that your promotions only ever apply to bags of 10kg and larger. The smaller bags, which are the only size available for small dogs, are never included. If larger bags of Derm Complete for small dogs existed, we’d happily buy them, but since they don’t, we end up missing out on every promotion. It really feels unfair toward small dog owners who also support the Hill’s brand. Please consider including the smaller bag sizes in future promotions or offering bigger bags for the small dog range.

I have been a breeder since 2006, and in all that time I have not received any service from your company. Whenever I have raised this concern, I have repeatedly been redirected to Ms. Rina Geldenhuys, who unfortunately ignores my messages and does not return my calls or emails. For a small breeder who can actively refer clients and encourage them to support your brand, this lack of service is extremely disappointing.

False advertising regarding a free dog bed. I bought a 12kg derm complete bag of food. With the hops of getting a free dog bed for my disabled English Bulldog. She loves Hills and their food is super good for her. However, when I asked about the free dog bed the response was that it does not qualify. I checked the Hills promotion an websit and also similar queries on the Hills Facebook page and I beg to differ. It it clear that any dry or wet 10kg or more dog food should get n free dog bed while stock lasts. Here comes the kicker there was ampel stock! I just feel sad for my Blommie as life is hard already for a girl that is disabled.

I have been a loyal customer of Hills Food for many years and have spent thousands of rands on their products. Recently, I reached out to Andrea Walker to discuss switching from Hills to another brand because of ongoing challenges with the current product for my one fur baby. I have two and they both eat different food. Andrea reassured me that if I tried one more option and it did not resolve my concerns, she would facilitate a return through the veterinarian where I purchased it. However, that assurance has not been honored, as I have not received any responses to my numerous calls and messages and when I finally did via much running around, it was met with rude disdain, insults, a lack of integrity, respect and honour. Furthermore, after Andrea’s complete lack of professionalism, I was deeply disappointed by her superior Brigid's disrespectful behavior and insults during what is already a difficult time for me. I recently experienced the loss of my beloved fur child, and the lack of professionalism and empathy from their team only added to my distress. Their policy is to accept food back if your pet does not eat it. The Vet also tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with them and when they finally got to speak to a woman called Sandra she was equally as unhelpful. On the 24th April 2025 I wrote a final email which I was told would be sent to senior management. To date they have not even acknowledged receipt of the email or responded. I have been trying to address these matters discreetly and professionally, but it is getting me nowhere. I found myself in a frustrating situation before where I had to discard a 12 kg bag of ZD due to it expiring before use. Plus I have another 12 kg bag that I cannot use as my baby girl died. It is completely ********* and unprofessional the way they have treated me. I am now left with another large bag of ZD, which I am uncertain about since it might have contributed to my pet's recent health issues. It seems that Hills only interest is their bottom line and not that of the pets or their owners. Despite my willingness to absorb this loss and my prior loyalty, the communication and support from Hills has been disappointing, particularly with Andrea's firm assurance that any unsatisfactory products would be taken back as in the case of the large bag of Lamb and Rice she literally forced me to take under false assurances. Sadly it seems that my only recourse is to try and post on this platform because they seem to think that they can get away with their shocking behaviour at great expense and upset to the consumer

I have had by Boerbull rescue dog on Hill’s for the past two and a half years and have had an issue. However, with this last bag of Hill’s Large Breed 18Kg, I have to mix the food with other ingredients to convince her to eat it, and she is NOT a fussy eater. Anyway, I logged a query the day before yesterday enquiring as to whether this was a bad batch, or whether they had changed the formula and they have not bothered to respond even though I include all the “numbers” off the bag. Furthermore, when you dial the number listed on their website you are informed that the number is no longer in service. So what gives? I have always viewed the pet food industry with some suspicion as result of the frequent price hikes, but now I am convinced that this is just a money making racket. I will be switching to another brand.

**** customer service. This is now the second time I'm dissatisfied with Hills pet nutrition. The first time I let it slide but when I phone regarding a puppy welcome kit coupon the lady I spoke too couldn't answer me, sitting on the other side of the call with a mouth full of teeth. Seriously people spend hundreds of rands on this products and we as customers should be treated better.
