Hire it the ripoffs.
I hired scaffolding and planks on Friday . I came for the hire Friday get Saturday and Sunday free. They said I was early so I paid the extra day. I didn't mind . When I returned the equipment I was 36 min late on Monday morning. This company charged me for an extra day. Whatever you do don't hire here. They are a bunch of con artists I swear.

Hire-it gives you inferior equipment & don't deliver on promises
So, a few week ago I hired a couple generators from them. I specifically asked for diesel generators. Not only did I get petrol generators, but I had endless problem with it. Of the 4 which I hired and the 2 which they gave as backup, I eventually could only use 1 because the other generators refused to start. Yet stupid me decide to hire 5 site fences from them. On Friday morning, I go and pay for it as well as delivery and collection. I also make it clear that I need it to be collected first thing Monday morning because it is an open site and there will not be anyone after 10am. Monday morning, I arrive at the site to ensure all deliveries are collected, the toilets, bins, ******* etc. At 11:22 I make my first call to Hire-it to make sure they collect. They say the driver will be there shortly. At 11:42 I can again and the driver is still on his way. I tell them I am leaving the site and I return at 12:40. At 12:43 I once again call and get told the driver will be there shortly. At 13:23 I call again and get told the driver will be there shortly. At 13:53 the driver pitches and explain the real driver will be here shortly. I then get a call from Mark and Grant saying some of the fence feet are missing to which I respond that it was there when I left the morning and I was promised collection in the morning. Hire-it are not the only ppl needing to run a business, yet their expectation is that we lust look after their stuff to they are available to collect, even though they agreed to collect it first thing Monday morning. Now they claim I am liable for their loss of feet when they did not collect when agreed to.

The Hire-it customer service crew deserves a special mention. When I had issues or needed assistance, they answered quickly and were genuinely helpful.

Don’t Hire It
Needed an orbital sander from Hire It Claremont. Getting back home saw sander broken and unusable. Did job by hand and managed to get sander back to store in afternoon. Not very helpful desk attendant and then refunded only half the value that I paid. Said “That’s it” and would not engage with me further. Clearly not aware of NCA and clearly not interested in customer relations. Equipment was really in bad condition.

Don’t Hire It
Needed an orbital sander from Hire It Claremont. Getting back home saw sander broken and unusable. Did job by hand and managed to get sander back to store in afternoon. I have had terrible service experiences within the construction services lately but my interaction with Hire It Parow was phenomenal. Their service, support and attitude beyond compare. I recommend them highly enough.

POOR MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT = LOSS OF INCOME
<p>I hired a 5Kva generator to provide power to my food trailer from your shop in Strand street, Bellville on 2/3/2017 for an International Sporting Event (South Afrcia vs England) at Hartleyvale, Observatory. Collecting the generator from the shop I said to the Manager we discussed when I returned my previous rental, that I want the same or similar generator I had. I got an old and very tired one. Long story short, it only worked for 20 minutes. I returned it this morning, with a FULL TANK of petrol, your gain my loss, my R700 deposit refunded and an almost silent sorry. The choke was faulty. No cable attached to the lever. SORRY. You cost me literally a few thousand rand in income, embarresment, my chances of being invited back to the venue jeoperdised and all I got was an almost silent sorry!?!?!?!?!? Business like yours with arrogant staff like yours **** small business like me.</p>
