Honor South Africa
Based on recent customer reviews, Honor South Africa faces significant criticism around after-sales support, repair turnaround times, and perceived false advertising regarding device durability, particularly the X9c's "unbreakable" screen claims. Multiple customers report being sent between service centres, network providers, and Honor without resolution. Recurring hardware defects including overheating, screen failures, and software glitches frustrate users further. Customers also highlight difficulties claiming promotional gifts. While some appreciate the phones' features and value, the overwhelming sentiment reflects deep dissatisfaction with warranty handling and customer service responsiveness.

My Honor Alta-LA2E2.green - Honor X7C 865479791087308 Job Card No:21140120 date of purchase September 2025 refers. My Honor used to access Virtual Banking (Google Wallett) used to work perfectly until November 2025. After numerous trips between FNB Bank, Vodacom Scottburgh, I was eventually told by the Honor sales person that it was a Honor software problem and it would be updated. Beginning of January 2026 after contacting Honor AI i was told there has never been a software problem, I then went back to Vodacom store, and I told him where he could stick the phone, he went on the offensive (not salesperson orientated) and if it was not for the Vodacom Muslim sales lady intervention, it could have turned out worse. She then told the salesperson he is sales and we should send it to technical services. It was sent 28/01/2026 and i was told i would have a answer in 14 to 21 days. There was no further communication with me, on the 27th of February 2026 i went back to the store, the phone was there, report stated need to have screen lock to use Google Wallett which I find ridiculous as it is common sense. After spending at least 4 to 5 hours in the shop (while they tried to get the Wallett to work, no success. They told me they had to send it back and i would have a answer by Tuesday 3 March 2026 (i had nothing) On Sunday 8th March 2023 the lady phoned, asked for my ID number and said i would have a answer 10 March 2026, as usual nothing. i went in today 14 March 2026, they had sent it to the Honor workshop and were waiting for a technician to get a quote (WHY A QUOTE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY) I would not recommend a Honor if that is the kind of service you get but would recommend Vodacom Scottburgh for the effort.

I had send in my phone in September 2025 for a microphone repair. Phone came back a bit better, but not completely fixed. In the end of November, the microphone was doing what it was doing the first time I had send it in. Booked a postal repair in early December through the app. Nothing came of it. Though they might not be taking in new repair, cause it was December. Waited till January, booked another repair through the app. Still nothing. Called custom services on Monday, 16 Feb. This is now over 2 months since I booked the second repair. Customer Service stated they will sort it out and get back to me within 48hours and have my phone booked for repairs. Have been over 48hours and still no feedback. Horrible service and horrible customer service.

right here goes i got the honor x9c great reviews i love this phone, but heres the kicker all over youtube, tiktok honor has shown that the phone is nearly unbreakable even people hammering nails into wood with the face of the phone. the phone can drop 4 metres and not break. well yesterday my phone drop about 90 cm to the ground hitting the plastic edge of a chair in the office, outcome dark shape has formed under the glass of the phone , called honor they tell me that i will have to pay to get it fixed now my thing is you advertise that it is difficult to damage the phone but refuse to repair it when it does break from a 90 cm fall, in my book that is falls advertising and you should be ashamed of all the lies you are spreading.

Wife and I bought HONOR, after being so happy with Vivo. I have HONOR 400 Lite, which is a good instrument. Problem is I've now 3 times tried replacing the screen protector, and last time was at Telkom where I renewed my contract. Last 2 occasions Telkom said this specific handset has a problem with the screen (not just mine but all), where there's a curvature on right hand side, and NO screen protector will fit properly. It leaves a greyish patch all on the one side, and you can see the protector doesn't "hold" there. I've done 3 replacements, no joy. It's not the end of the world, but frustrating, and makes phone look untidy and poor condition. I suggest avoid the HONOR 400 Lite. Not sure about other models.

Dear Honor SA I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding two Honor 400 smartphones that I took on contract less than a month ago from the Vodacom Store at Gateway Mall. I would like to make it clear from the outset that I have no issues whatsoever with the salesperson or the service received in-store. The staff were professional and helpful. My complaint lies solely with the Honor 400 devices themselves. I have been a long-time Samsung user, and after being impressed by the advertised features of the Honor 400, I decided to take a double contract deal, moving both myself and my wife away from Samsung devices. My wife previously owned a Samsung S23, which we replaced with an Honor 400. Unfortunately, both Honor 400 devices have exhibited significant overheating issues, including: Excessive heating while charging Overheating during normal usage, such as watching videos or general phone use This is extremely concerning, especially given that the devices are less than a month old and are being used under normal conditions. The overheating affects comfort, usability, and raises concerns about long-term device safety and battery health. What further reinforces my concern is the fact that Honor has since released a newer device featuring a cooling function, which strongly suggests that overheating is a known issue with previous models, including the Honor 400. Based on my experience so far, I am deeply disappointed. I would not recommend that anyone switch from Samsung or iPhone to an Honor device, particularly the Honor 400, given the issues I have encountered in such a short period of ownership. I respectfully request that Honor Investigate this matter urgently, and Advise on possible remedies, including device replacement, contract review, or alternative resolution, in line with the Consumer Protection Act and Vodacom’s quality standards. I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution to this matter.
