This is the email I wrote to Hospice in Rustenburg (Boshoff Street)
To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter of complaint to raise your awareness on how Hospice in Rustenburg treat their customers. I am extremely upset by the poor and rude service my mom received by the staff members on Friday, 28 January 2022.
My mother, who suffers with stage 3 breast cancer and Chronic Asthma reached out in person for help at the Hospice Rustenburg Centre in Boshoff street. She was in extreme pain and felt hopeless.
This is not the first time that Hospice clearly ''refused'' to assist or provide care for her in 'any' possible way.
According to google, ''Hospice care is for people who are nearing end of life. The services are provided by a team of health care professionals who maximize comfort for a person who is terminally ill by reducing pain and addressing physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.''
My mother has been battling with cancer for more than two years, and spends most of her time home alone where she needs someone to assist her and check in on her.
My mother also asked if they can help her with any pain medication since she can't afford it and doesn't have medical aid. Instead, she was looked and without any hesitation just referred her to Cansa.
I am the daughter of Cynthia Mey, and situated in Cape Town. It is heartbreaking to see that people that offers services for care, are so careless (hence I'm so far away). You state on your website that at Hospice in Rustenburg there is ''no end to caring'' which is absolutely not the case.
I am going to take this matter further, this is unacceptable.
