We booked the Calypso Beach accommodation through the Marriott Bonvoy app. The booking process raised concerns due to a substantial damages deposit requirement of R5000 and an extensive list of rules with associated fines starting at R2000. Upon arrival, we found the accommodation to be substandard, with outdated appliances, poor-quality furnishings, and inadequate climate control. Basic amenities were lacking or in poor condition. The situation worsened when we experienced a power outage on the second day of our stay.
While the hostess was sympathetic to our concerns, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. We are currently awaiting a refund, which is expected to take 7-15 working days. Based on this experience, we will not be using this booking agency for future accommodations.
