Hi, I own a flat in a complex that uses Hummingbird as the property management agent. we wanted to move to prepaid electricity for about a year. Hummingbird always came back with a different scenario of why it would be difficult. they recently came back telling us that we have a credit with COJ of R154 857,00. they will still charge us for electricity because there are owners that have not paid. they promised more than a year ago to claim this money from truant tenants but no feedback given to the owners/renters. they now say they have legal requirements that they want to use the money for. why does this only come up when there is money available. does this mean there are several other legal obligations that hummingbird is not complying with. this is one of many issues that they are not open with and feels like they steal our money.
