16 March 2026 Dear Management We have been coming to Im Eimer for almost 20 years. Over the years we have introduced countless friends, family members, and colleagues from all over the world to your restaurant, and it has always been a place where we enjoyed wonderful meals and memorable moments together. Unfortunately, yesterday at around 12:30, we had a very disappointing experience for the first time. When we arrived, we were abruptly turned away at the entrance by a young woman in blue jeans who told us, in a rather rude and sarcastic tone, that we needed a reservation and therefore could not enter. There was also a young man sitting at a table with a clipboard and another young woman nearby. What made the situation even more unfortunate is that we had German guests visiting us on holiday who were very excited to experience your restaurant. Instead, they witnessed us being dismissed at the door and we had to go elsewhere. They were quite surprised and mentioned it was the first time they had ever been turned away from a restaurant in this manner. The restaurant appeared largely empty at the time, with only a few guests seated toward the back. A more professional and welcoming approach would have been to politely explain the reservation policy and perhaps offer us a table for a limited time, or suggest when we could return. That would have been a far more hospitable way to handle the situation and would likely have still resulted in business for your restaurant. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The young woman who addressed us was short with long braided ash-blonde hair and her tone came across as unnecessarily rude. After nearly two decades of supporting your establishment and recommending it to visitors from around the world, this experience was deeply disappointing. Sadly, it has left a very negative impression on both us and our guests. Naturally, experiences like this tend to be shared with friends, family, and colleagues, and influence future dining choices. We truly expected better treatment from a place we have supported for so many years. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will choose to spend our time and money elsewhere. Thank you.

We joined tonight and asked each for a starter and main. The "Wurstsalat" was the under main menu. I said it's too much to eat 2 main. The waiter said it's fine you can eat it as a starter. We expected it then smaller. At the bill, we received it as full main charged and that was not what we agreed. The manager came on our table and said it must be a misunderstanding and he has no authority to reduce our bill because the owner"Rolf" is in hospital with lung infection. During our discussion, I said I knew the owner. Right I said this, the owner walked through the corner, hiding and thought I not see him. So the manager **** to us or the owner was not willing to sort the issue about the wrong bill out. Ridiculous

This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, the staff were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, every eisbein they cooked the night we were there, was overcooked, hard and unpleasant. Such a pity. Wont be back.

Disgusting service, disgusting host as owner. Condescending and obtrusive. German business in our country clearly failing to continue. Without a band on a Monday after spending R700 we were insulted by a restaurant that only had 3 clients Told to rather go to Spur, clearly a favourite for the owner establishment. I wish you well in your forthcoming demise.
