Inspired Management's replyOfficial
02 Feb 2026, 08:00 Dear Angela
We take complaints of this nature seriously and would like to place the correct facts on record.
The electricity disconnection by the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) was not due to non-payment by Inspired Management, but rather the result of a historic and undisclosed secondary municipal account that had been created prior to our mandate. No invoices were issued to the Body Corporate or to us as managing agents on this account, and we were therefore not made aware of its existence.Upon becoming aware of the disconnection, we immediately escalated the matter to senior officials at CoE. Following engagement with the relevant Head of Department, electricity supply to the estate was restored within one day.
Subsequently, and in good faith, the estate paid R1.5 million (approximately 30% of the alleged debt) to secure ongoing supply while the account was being fully reconciled. During this reconciliation process, it became evident that incorrect electricity tariffs had been applied by Council. This is currently under formal dispute with the Energy Department, and the estate is awaiting the necessary credits to be processed.Only once the account has been correctly adjusted will a final payment arrangement be concluded on the verified outstanding balance.
With regard to access to financials: Trustees have full access to the Body Corporate’s financial records via the WCU system. Individual owners do not have direct access to Body Corporate or HOA financials unless such access is provided for in the HOA’s Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) and governance processes.
Inspired Management acts strictly within its mandate and in the best interests of the Body Corporate. We remain committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and resolving municipal matters proactively—even where the root cause predates our appointment.
We welcome constructive engagement and are available to discuss this matter further through the appropriate governance channels.
Best regards,
