If I could have give a zero star I would have!!! I unfortunately have also been scammed by these charlatans!! Be aware of Jannie and Cecelia Schlebusch, they are NOT to be trusted. Cecelia Schlebusch arranged to have laminate film installed on my windows and charged me over R2K per window. I happened to be at the premises whilst the installer was installing the laminate and only paid R250 for an additional window which appears to be the going rate, NOT the R2K I was ripped off. They sold me an "antique" table for R5K, which turns out is not even worth R800, as they considered me a "friend", not to mention over R25K in jewelry which they claimed was worth way more that it's true value. Cecelia Schlebush asked to borrow R10K lamenting some sop story about needing it to surprise Jannie for his birthday, promising I would get it back the following week. Long story short, I only got R5K back and Cecelia "graciously" undertook to keep my rented property clean at a nominal fee, which over the past 2 years amounted well over R10K, most of which being whilst I was away, so I have no way to verify this, notwithstanding the fact that I had no need for it to be cleaned whilst I was away, but with Cecelia, there's always an angle. I gave well over the required 28 days notice, to vacate the premises, paid for a full additional month, only to have a large portion of my deposit deducted, due to the property being vacant. Jannie finally informed me that he had found a tenant and that the tenant would only take occupancy at the end of the month. I insisted Jannie hand over the keys which I would then make available at month end, which he refused. The following day I did receive an email stating that the new tenant would be taking occupancy on the 15th of the month and NOT month end as had been stated after close of business the previous day. As this entire situation got way out of hand and tempers flared, Jannie Schlebusch informed me that is going to physically accost me the next time he sees me!!!! (Really lovely people to deal with). I handed 3 remotes and the keys to Cecelia just prior to vacating the premises, all of which she denies ever having received. If you are looking to rent a property in Cape Town, you really do NOT want to be caught by Island View Properties, if they have an inclination you have money, they will attempt to befriend you and to then sell all kinds of cheap rubbish to you at inflated prices, notwithstanding the fact that they will make every attempt to keep your deposit!!! This will be the worst letting experience of your life!!!

I was renting an apartment through Islandview properties, Lagoon Beach Cape Town. Even before I moved in, they tricked me into paying R 6000 for a bed that was only worth R 4000. When I moved out after my contract expired, they deducted money from my deposit incorrectly, claiming that it was an outstanding electricity bill. Their statements showed that nothing was outstanding, but they still refuse to refund me. They can't be trusted.
