Do not purchase any products from Jaguar Land Rover you will regret it. In 2022 we purchased a Jaguar F pace SVR (New) at a whopping cost of R2127691,90. Since the day of purchase the car has had a myriad of mechanical and technical issues with the results that it had to be taken in for repairs for an unreasonable amount of times for a “brand new” vehicle. I want to also note communication received on 01 September 2022 for a safety campaign on certain models for indicators that don’t work. Since date of purchase the vehicle has gone in more than 6 times for repairs which is unrelated to general vehicle service intervals. The incidents included a faulty infotainment system which they said it’s an ongoing problem with Jaguar Land Rover it’s related to the software but even with software updated the radio screen would go blank and the speedometer would also go blank some occasions Jaguar Land Rover Polokwane wouldn’t even book the car in for the infotainment issues which are still going on to date. At 6044 kilometres the wheel bearings had to be replaced. On another occasion I was stuck at the mall because it did not want to start they took the car it was said the key batteries were finished and it need configuration and another time was the battery was low they tried to blame the tracking unit which was not the case they disassembled interior etc and replaced the battery all these occasions were prolonged I drove their courtesy cars more than my own car which is on 34000 kilometres after 2 years. The recent incident is the one that made me decide to take legal action against jaguar Land Rover South Africa and Jaguar Land Rover Polokwane on the basis of consumer protection act (lemon law) and misrepresentation. In December of 2023 I realised the paint at the front of my car is peeling which I figured it’s festive and the car was almost due for it service I’ll have it checked out then and sadly on the 10th of January 2024 the cars steering wheel was jammed and could not move they then came to tow the car which was there for 2 months because they had to replace the steering rack, I then requested a claim for the peeling paint must be made because it was under warranty. Jaguar Land Rover Polokwane then went and got a paint specialist which said that it’s because of the way I wash the car or the products I’m using or I’m going to high pressure car washes which I found as an unsatisfactory response in all of this Anna-Mart Mare who was the service advisors then said on my own terms I can approach head office in which I did I was assigned Akhona Blekiwe and they sent a paint specialist who had determined that the car has been resprayed and the steps taken were incorrect and telephonically Akhona Blekiwe said it was not a factory fault they was a transit incident, in conclusion the same Anna-mart **** and said I refused to collect the car yet telephonically she told me they are just making sure the car is in good condition to be released back to me since the brake pads were finished. I was then told to go to NMS panel beater by Akhona Blekiwe that showed me how the gaps on the bonnet don’t make sense for a new car and suspension on the driver side which is the same side of the peeling paint and broken light clip and broken trim clip Is they then declined their quote because of that and referred me to Bradbury and I told them I’m not employed by jaguar Land Rover they can come fetch their car because I’m not the cause of all the problems I want to add that Bradbury was utterly rude as well because I was making a follow up. Under all circumstances I had to beg for my car back or alternatively beg for a courtesy car even upon return of the vehicle, the cameras had an issue and then they was a problem with the rear control arms which caused the car to be unstable and the towing company was blamed for that. Pending the matter of the transit accident Mr Blekiwe said that he would send the report which we have not received to date to evaluate and it was our understanding upon purchase of the vehicle is that we are purchasing a vehicle that is new and without fault. Imagine the displeasure of a brand new vehicle needing constant repairs and the horror of learning it was involved in a transit accident and was most likely repaired cheaply so it can just be sold. Our main concern is around our safety and based on experience that car compromised all extents of our safety. After the last incident with the rear axle and Jaguar Land Rover Polokwane refusing to take the car in and shifting blame I got fed up and engaged my lawyers who are now pursuing a case against jaguar Land Rover Polokwane and Jaguar Land Rover South Africa
The case will be based on Misrepresentation as will as consumer protection act on the basis of Lemon law Simply meaning that it’s either you give me a new car that has not been involved in an accident and cheaply fixed and sold as new on the same contractual terms or alternatively return all the money meaning all instalments all deposits contributed to the car and settle the car and take it back
It is unacceptable and please I know the paragraph is long but don’t buy their products may it be the Range Rover Vogue , Range Rover Sport, Discovery, Defender, Evoque and velar as well as all Jaguar products don’t do it it’s a waste of money and you might end up in my position of taking legal action
