K.Light claims to be a lighting importer, so they don't sell to the public. I found one of their fittings online, but none of the their retailers (9 near me) had stock. Not even a sample that I could look at!! So, I had to make the trip from Randburg to Midrand, amid traffic, taxis, potholes, load shedding and broken traffic lights - only to inspect a fitting. Remember I can't buy from them. In Midrand I found that the pin, for their location, as given on their website, is at the wrong position on the map!! There, I was told to go to another location further down the road for the showroom. On the way an idiot, who was cutting a corner, nearly crashed into me. So, when I arrived at the showroom, I was admittedly not in the best frame of mind. I requested the assistant at the showroom to show me the fitting and that I would like to open it so that I can see the inside, lamp holders, wiring, etc. Upon which she rep****: "Oh so you want to buy it?" I was irritated and said: "No, I first want to inspect it." She obviously did not like my tone of voice and excused herself. Then another assistant got involved and asked if she could assist OR SHOW ME THE DOOR. I left and will never use any of their products. If I have to jump through so many hoops, just to have a look at their fittings then they are definitely not worth it. As engineer I have also taken them off my tender list. If companies in SA don't want to do business, then why do they advertise their products?
