In the 6 months of treatment, Family Meds, Dr v Copenhagen, the chemists and Ward 22 were excellent, professional, and helpful.

My sister got an accident last week and she was examine. She had a broken upper jaw n underneath her eye. They gave her medication and told her that the hospital is full. They book her to go to Steve biko on the 6th. Now she is in a critical condition. We are scare that she might get infection. We real need help. We have been going up and down without no help.

Kalafong hospital is very bad. I went there at 14 February 2025 at 23:00. I stayed up until Saturday next afternoon. They called my name at 15:30. Kalafong Doctors operate by who do they know. My file was on top but they were taking file that were underneath. I even tood up and started to complain when I saw them helping more than 15 people that came at 09:00 and 11:00 Saturday morning. And when I speak to the Doctors saying why are they helping this people who just came now, they responded me with bad attitude. And because of that I refused to get helped. I refused their treatment. People am saving you now by saying do not even try to go to that hospital. Their service is very poor. You will die sitting in their chairs hoping to be helped. That hospital is not it. Save yourselves and go Pretoria West Hospital then. Am sure their services will be way better than that Kalafong Hospital.

STAY AWAY.... Dirty and disgusting toilet with used bandages with blood this laying on the floors, human feces not only in and or around the toilets but on the floors and walls. Urine on the floors and the smell. no hand soap or hand papper towels. The waiting area is disgusting dirty and smelling, ppl sitting ontop of each other and on the floor. Staff do not know what they doing as one send you this way and other that way and the next one back to were you started. no friendly service at all. security does not even check you coming in or out. Outside is durty and no one looking after the place. Put of beds and ppl laying on the floors sick and no blankets. Dustbins overflowing and smells. In the waiting area no numbers or so called and ppl that got there after you were called in 1st. Parking for visitors are all taken by staff. have to park outside and walk very far to get by the main gate. KNOW THE SOUTH AFRICA HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT THIS.

Something needs to be done about the female securities at Kalafong. It was extremely difficult just to drop clothes for a patient on the who was in the maternity ward, the female security at the gate, didn't even want to listen because I was having no patient to drop off. Meaning that the patient had to stay without clothes to change. The female securities in ward 26 were even worse on that day in the evening. They were not even interested while they were playing games on the phone. I even asked the other for her name, she said that she wouldn't give me her name. So I went there twice on the same day simply for nothing, just to be told by the female security in ward 26 to address her as "officer". I was made to make sure that I get quotations for medical aid for my loved ones than them to experience what I encountered there.

Formal Complaint Report Patient Name: Boitumelo Melba Masemola Date of Admission: 10 August 2024 Complaint Date: 13 September 2024 Hospital Name: Kalafong Hospital Ward/Unit: 19 Subject: Negligence and Lack of Care Leading to Worsening Condition of Patient To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the inadequate medical attention and negligence experienced by Boitumelo Melba Masemola since her admission to Kalafong Hospital on the 10th of August. It has been over a month, and despite the patient’s deteriorating condition, there has been no proper diagnosis, treatment, or care provided. Details of the Complaint: 1. Failure to Diagnose: Since the patient's admission, no clear diagnosis has been made regarding her illness. Despite several requests for updates and further tests, there has been no significant effort to identify the root cause of her condition. 2. Lack of Treatment: No medical treatment or intervention has been initiated to manage or alleviate the patient’s symptoms. The patient’s health is visibly declining, and her condition worsens with each passing day. However, no form of therapy or care plan has been offered to address her illness. 3. Negligence in Monitoring: There has been a noticeable lack of regular monitoring of the patient’s condition. Vital signs and symptoms have either been ignored or not properly documented, leaving her at risk of further complications. 4. Absence of Communication: Despite attempts to communicate with the medical team about the patient's status and next steps, there has been little to no response. This lack of communication is unacceptable and has caused significant distress to both the patient and her family. Conclusion: It is clear that Boitumelo Melba Masemola is in urgent need of proper medical attention. The negligence displayed thus far has not only delayed her recovery but has also led to her condition worsening daily. Immediate action is required to assess the patient, identify her illness, and provide the necessary treatment. I kindly request that this matter be addressed with the urgency it requires. The patient deserves to be treated with the appropriate care and respect, and I trust that this complaint will be taken seriously. Requested Action: Immediate diagnosis and medical treatment plan for the patient. Regular updates and communication regarding the patient’s condition and treatment. An investigation into the lack of care provided and accountability for the delay in treatment. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Lebogang khumalo 0731643553
